    i hope it isnt just me. so its a small block 350 chevy. well first of all things. forged pistons, con rods and gapped rings are a must if you plan to push it hard.
    especially doing burnouts. you should take care of stuff like gapping the rings first. cause that engine wants to run hard

    You could get it faster with a different rear gear in the quick change

    • @RightTurnRandy
      @RightTurnRandy  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's true. I have a 3.0 gear now, but I like it for driving on the street. I'd have to order a new ring and pinion and rebuild the rear end to change it, since it's a Ford nine inch.

    I can tell higher rpm's picks up power just watching the boost gauge. Seems like you are running awhile with barely any boost?

    • @RightTurnRandy

      Boost is completely linear with RPM.

    • @RightTurnRandy
      @RightTurnRandy  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Rear gear is a 3.0/1. This was the 1/8 mile, so I never really went all that fast. If I had done a ten second quarter mile, I would definitely have been in full safety gear.

    Saw smoke coming from the passenger header

    • @RightTurnRandy
      @RightTurnRandy  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Smoke is blowby out of the valve cover. If you saw smoke from the actual header itself, that makes sense, because there were a couple bolts backed out on that side, on 6 and 8. That was the exhaust leak.

    @LITTLE1994 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Well, the truth is NASCAR race cars were not meant for drag racing. But you surely would dominate had they faced you on a speedway.

    • @RightTurnRandy
      @RightTurnRandy  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You're absolutely right. The truck arms move the pivot point of the trailing assembly so far forward that it's impossible to balance the car for rear end lift on a drag launch like a four link can.

  • @outlawofga
    @outlawofga 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    If you want it to run. Drop the Eldeboggs and put some "power refrenced " holleys or similar on it. It's extremely lazy for a blower engine. That circletrack cam has too much overlapfor a blower to work. I've got street engines that will hit 8 to 9 psi just stabbing the throttle in park. This engine doesn't trap any air until 5000 or soo rpm under a load.. party is almost over by then..🙄..I'm not being an ass, just trying to help💯. Ive run blower engines for years.. Blown alcohol/Nitromethane blend currently on my Rail. This little 350 can easily make 700 hp or soo.... and snatch them gears like you having fun !!!..😉🤣🤣.... granny shifting cost a second and a half

    • @RightTurnRandy
      @RightTurnRandy  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The engine is a factory reman 350. Stock cam.
      The Edelbrock carbs do just fine. There is a lean spot when rolling in, but that's my fault for being too lazy to tune it out with the air valve secondaries.
      Granny shifting is a must with the long rear gear, 3.0/1, with long gears in the trans also. The synchros in the TKO-600 lock me out on the 1-2. Can't bang shift this one.
      I do appreciate the advice though, thank you.

      First of all, it’s not power referenced. You’re referring to a boost referenced power valve. Second, having “too much overlap” is a myth that’s been disproved over and over on dynos not some old bs wives tale. Third, this is a damn near stock 350 he’s not going to make 700 horsepower with it. And how can you even
      Mention boost when you don’t know his pulley ratio? Also Let’s just ignore the fact that boost is relative and means nothing 🙄

  • @brandonwestfall8596
    @brandonwestfall8596 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    This combo is just hilarious. Stock 350 which is fine, what sounds like a stock cam isnt fine, especially with a blower and you may think tgose eddys are doing fine until you put a reao carb on it.

    • @RightTurnRandy
      @RightTurnRandy  ปีที่แล้ว

      Why cam it with 882 heads?? What a waste, they flow terribly, won't get much from a cam. Runs great with the stock short block. Edelbrock makes a fantastic street carb, which is what this car is for. Super easy needle and jet changes, simple and inexpensive throttle linkage. I'll trade 7 WOT horsepower for those conveniences all day long.

    • @DWBmotorsports
      @DWBmotorsports ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@RightTurnRandyin my experience every single person I’ve ever ran across , that hates edelbrock carbs has zero idea to tune one. And at least 75% of the Holley fan boys don’t know how to tune a Holley either lol

    just came back and rewatched the video. and read the comments. a stock 350 isnt going to last for long if you keep hammering it. 700HP if you can make it last and run right. but from what i read. your gonna need stuff like a forged bottom end(roots blowers are notorious for running hot and overheating cylinders), bigger radiator(a must cause any higher than 10 PSI and that engine is screwed if hammered too much), EFI(i know your lazy on tuning cause i read the comments and get one thats for boosted applications and self learning). and at best check the oil. the older 5.7 tends to milk shake if its run too hard especially if its a very old chevy. as evident because of the blow by(which means the engine isnt making the power it should, likely the motor is tired)
