not exactly true, on paper the raw horsepower is pretty close between the two in the gpu compartment (less than 5% of difference). It's mostly unified shader model and shared pool of ram + simpler Xenon architecture that made it easier to develop for and thus most 3rd party games looked better. There were exceptions though, as highly talented developers of studios such as Insomniac, Naughty Dog, Santa Monica and Evolution were code wizards and thanks to Cell were able to produce tech that was simply best of that console gen
@@jezuschrystus5113 You can say that again. Definitely true. Though, I guess, Playstation and Xbox realized that with simplier architecture and better devkits they could've brought more developers. No more Cell, no more Xenon, only AMD64 (and ARM if we're meaning Switch). "You tried to beat me, yet here you are". He, he...
I guess using the hdmi cable also gives 1080p60 in some versions where others run on 1080p30. Even ps3 runs 720p30 fps with worse lighting compared to x360
Hey bro, is it possible to unlock the framerate on gta 3 and vice city? The framerate is terrible on the original versions and obviously the 360 wouldn't have trouble on running them at 60 fps. How can I unlockb some games' framerate myself though? I want to try it with all the games I have in my 360 rgh
Hi, at the moment I've unlocked GTA San Andreas but I'm still working on it so I haven't uploaded it, yet. GTA III and Vice City are for the Xbox original, it requires another approach respecting on what I'm doing on the Xbox 360. Sooner or later I'll start it, also because I would like to unlock Thief: Deadly Shadows, one of my favourite games ever.
It's not so difficult to unlock the framerate after I have understand how to approach the problem. Anyway, I'm testing most of the Xbox 360 games and I've unlocked more than 100. If you want to try, first, watch my tutorial about (using Ghidra, HxD and Xextool). Watch also my video where I unlock the framerate in real time of Skyrim using Peek Poker, then when you feel comfortable with those program write me (somewhere there's a comment where I tell some things a bit deeply, but I don't remember which was the video).
@@xbox360forever3 Hello, I just saw your tutorial, fortunately it looks far easier than I expected. Anyway, the only problem is about the xenia patch, where can I find the Xenia patches for these games so I can continue through the modding process? Also, which could be some of the differences you mentioned earlier because of these games being from OG Xbox?
I don't follow the Xenia patches anymore. I did the first time, but then I saw some of them couldn't be applicable to a real Xbox 360, so I had to find my way (sometime is similar, sometime no). So, most of the games you see in my TH-cam account are not from Xenia patches.
Do you mean on this game or in general? To unlock the framerate of several games you need a RGH modded Xbox 360. The last RGH 3.0 is easier to do than the previous, but you need some little skills in soldering and a chip programmer that costs about 25-30 euro.
Because several reasons. The first is the framerate is not so stable. You have peak of 60 fps in the first person view but not in the others. To have it I turned off the vsync, and it's not so good to see. Last, rising the framerate rise the gpu temperature and it could be a problem in the retail version of the 360. I also think sometimes they did it to not show the gap between the Xbox 360 and the PS3. Watch my other videos, there are some that let you think "why didn't they release it at 60 fps?"
They didn't polish it at that time. NFS:MW runs at 30-40 mostly, but it never fully utilized the chip - 'cause neither of devs knew, how it could work. And, to be honest, retail Xbox-es are tickling bombs.
th-cam.com/video/cZqOls7RWEo/w-d-xo.html a great Spec Ops: The Line with unlocked framerate.
No matter what everyone knew X360 was a way more powerful platform compared to PS3.

It depends, but yes, the Xbox 360 was overall more powerful than the PS3. Better RAM, better GPU and better CPU (except for raw number crunching).
