I am out of a relationship that wasn’t right for me, in a new healthy and fantastic relationship, hell I’ve even bought my first house. Goose, the reason you were popular in 2017 is because you were real. You offered an alternative to the safe, mundane, mainstream drivel that dominates 99 percent of twitch. You were unique. Yes, your stream was negative and angry. But it was also fresh. And it countered the vast majority of all the other politically correct and annoying streams. Dont look back on it negatively.
Gotta love the fact that Marc´s footage from 2011. He won´t let go off his VHS tapes. It probably has that many artifacts (VHS does NOT look that bad , not even back in the day) but he-using the same tape should have degraded the tape + heads to that extent. Still keeps that old school charm we all love.
The elephant in the room for those clips where Goose is losing it, is the grief of his mum passing. I know the pain. It seeps out in areas of your life like this because it's so difficult to process the emotion face on and frankly I'm unsure there is even an optimal way of dealing with bereavement. But yeah, that's the real cause of the pain you're seeing, it's pain being diverted into anger because as men that's an easier emotion to deal with.
I really appreciated the honesty here. As a former edgelord it really resonated with me and helped kinda make peace with the shitty things I've done and believed as a younger person.
On another note from 1:18:32 from goodmaki, I've been talking about the opposite a lot this last week. With the trend of a lot of content creators (really beginning in the Jake Paul era) just not giving any fucks in public and treating it almost like a virtual space: Who knew real life was fake? Perception is reality. It's how I've been getting over my negatives in my life. Life is how you make it, but sometimes you can't help but be immersed in the setting and let it influence you. But in a snap, you can be taken out of it; both in a mental and morbid sense.
I’m not really sure on this episode... was built up to be the big finale with a lot of history, outside of Marc’s 1:55 I feel this this whole episode was mostly about you. 2017 era goose is dark. The strangest and most relatable thing with your angry rants during those live streams is the "why me!?!?!?!" I have felt that way several times trying to speed run or doing something great, but from an observers perspective it has not a God damn thing to do with you. You are trying to align perfect execution with perfect rng and the odds of the later are completely random and with the tighter competition the more of a lottery aspect the rng plays. Lotteries again don't care about our feelings and are completely impersonal.
something hilarious about the rage at "backboosts" which in reality are just you getting shot by NPCs in a first person shooter. its genuinely funny to watch but im glad you are above freaking out like that nowadays.
Happy to have made it out of that era of madness with you. Was definitely going through similar negativity at the time and was watching the chat of old clips to see if I showed up saying anything I would regret. I wasn't always the most active chatter but I was there for a lot of this. Glad things are better now.
I can kind of relate to being one of the best, but never the top. I'm one of the top vocalists in Rock Band 4 on Xbox Live. Nothing beats that feeling of nailing the perfect run on a song, only to see DosParkers has beaten you again.
