I'm honored by my dedication run. I'm bummed that I couldn't be there live to watch, but I just did the unorthodox strat of getting a steady job lol. So at least I'll be able to keep supporting speedlore far into the future.

Hey Goose. 35 year old long time gamer here who started playing GE007 in middle school in the late 90s. Moved on to half life, counter strike, day of defeat, cs global offensive, overwatch, and primarily stuck to computer FPS games the past 20 years. Currently I grind Valorant by riot games and play at a pretty high level in the ranked ladder (immortal 3) as I am very competitive with my gaming. I stumbled upon your videos recently and have been binge watching for weeks on end. I have known that speedrunning existed, but not to the extent that you have shown in these videos. The amount of history and documentation within your community is mind blowing, impressive, and extremely entertaining to watch in video form through your channel. The feeling of nostalgia is pretty awesome too, even though I just played FFA mode with 3 friends rather than play the single player mode in GE. It is fantastic to watch all of this nostalgic game play and to learn about this community that still takes the game this seriously and plays with such passion. Pretty incredible stuff. Thank you so much for putting this speed lore series together. It is a labor of love i'm sure, but I want to express how much I've enjoyed your work.
I also have a strong urge to pick up an n64 and try speedrunning GE007, as the competitor in me feels like I can learn how to challenge these top times... but i don't see myself doing it. What I will do is continue to watch the rest of your speedlore series and anything else you want to put out on speedrunning and the-elite history. I specifically love the stuff on GE. I've really enjoyed some other content creators stuff on doom/quake as well and am wondering if you will ever get around to doing any content on those?
Lastly, as a fan of this series specifically, I have obviously heard you talk a LOT about a select group of people. Bosshardt, wouter, clemmins, karl jobst, ace, mark ruitzu, sterling neblett, illu, luke, jimbo with his capture card lol... this is all off of memory from the videos i've watched so far. You speak of these legends in such a revering way.. pisses me off that I didn't keep playing GE, take up speed running, find the-elite in 1999, break WRs, and find myself immortalized 20 years later in your videos. I definitely have my favorite characters from the cast of usual suspects as well as a few that I know I would have probably beefed with on the board as we did quite a lot as kids back in the early 2000s lol.
Do you plan on doing a series that focuses on one specific legendary GE speed runner per episode? Maybe when you get through the speedlore series? I would love to see that.

Very cool, the only "modern" shooter game I really played much was Overwatch; had a great time with the mates grinding around in Platinum, lol. As for Doom & Quake, I think I'll leave those to other creators who know more about those games than I.
I have considered doing SpeedLores on specific speedrunners.. perhaps that'll be something to explore when the main series is done. It's hard to know exactly what others will or won't want shared about their exploits of gaming days gone by, but I could chat with each person before an episode and go over exactly which parts of their career to share. It's just a thought though, and I guess we'll see what happens next!

You had mentioned that someone saw Leo Santos on a brazilian forum talking about overclocking. Something that not many people are aware of is that Brazil actually has its own Video format, called MPAL, or PAL-M. Its a weird hybrid between NTSC-U/J and PAL, but is essentially NTSC with different color options. This might be the reason why his game/version seemed to run faster, but that's purely speculation. Wasn't sure if you were aware of that, maybe you can look more into that if you're curious.

It's going to be bitter sweet to see the end of speedlore. I've been here since the very beginning...maybe in the future Goose can do update episodes or something ..anyways it's been interesting to see Goose go from a GE streamer to the archiver of the community, and then seeing Jobst go from a great runner to a rising youtube creator is also amazing.

The idea of overclocking an N64 so that the gameplay runs very marginally faster, but doesn't effect the IN GAME timer seems like its a complaint that should have been dismissed as a possibility within like 2 seconds. That doesn't seem possible without hacking the actual code of the game itself.

He also does it quite violently - he lets the conveyor belt transport him out while he shoots down a bunch of metal barrels on the guards.
