How to Make Artisan Bread Without a Dutch Oven!

  • This is a simple recipe BUT it has several steps that have to be carefully followed to achieve the perfect artisan loaf of bread!
    Ingredients
    2 cups ap flour
    1 cup whole wheat flour
    * see video for notes on using different flours
    1/4 tsp yeast
    1 5/8 cup water
    1/2 tsp salt
    Optional Ingredients
    nuts
    seeds
    dried fruit
    honey
    ...almost anything you could dream up!

    Awesome! Girl! I’ve never been a baker at all! 🤦🏼‍♀️ I really need to spend some time on this subject!
    I do a lot of things but baking has never been one of them!

    If we have an element at the bottom of our oven, is there a way we can still do this method (with modifications)?

      I would suggest putting one of your racks on the lowest level and then put a cookie sheet (with sides) in there and let it pre heat so when you throw the ice in it will steam 😊. Also I would recommend using a stainless steel sheet because I would imagine the large temp fluctuations could cause issues with non stick coating after a while.
