I was in Ibiza in 1995 and didn't know this song before i heard in in the clubs (no one did, it was before the internet) and the local radio stations. I ended up, buying it on 12" and still have that vinyl today.
this song is one the songs that I liked very much in the 90s, including Orbital - the box, Underworld - born slippy, Fluke - reeferendrum, Faithless - insomnia (de donatis remix), milk inc - la vache, da hool - meet her at the love parade, energy 52 - cafe del mar (three'n'one rmx), age of love - age of love, Jaydee - plastic dreams, daft punk - rock'n'roll, joey beltram - energy flash, lfo - lfo, fsol - papua new guinea, Liquid - sweet harmony
Might I add: Usura - Open Your Mind, The KLF - Last Train to Trancentral, Cajmere - Percolator, Sequencial - Psychotronic, DHS - House of God, Sadomasy - Body Motion. Welcome 2 my youth
I was 13 when this song came out. It and the original song was mortal kombat movie soundtrack were my intro to electronic music. At 15 I went to my first rave in New Orleans in Halloween, 1997. I went to raves all over the gulf coast from 97 to 2002. Higher state of Consciousness opened me up to a whole new world. I'm 40 now, I don't listen to music much anymore, and love all genres, but I still get on my DJ decks and crank up any electronic music just for the love of loud jamming.
This is still one of the most unplayed underrated tunes I was 14 years old throwing a few shapes to thus when I should of been home in bed thank god I lived threw the 90s rave seen still and 💥🎶💥🎶💥❤️❤️❤️
way too many effects too often. He used to make this set-piece absolutely devastating with no FX on board at all, just manipulating two copies of the track, I saw him do it back in the 90s. He created the double and triple echoes, and the changes in the beat just by crossfading. It's great that we have so much FX technology now on equipment, I wouldn't want to go back to the days of simple board mixers, but instead of bringing out his creativity the FX unit has made him lose his way completely here and blunt the impact of the track.
I think he overdid it WAY too much here. I don't want to go back to the days of two vinyl turntables and a simple mixer, and I appreciate his mastery of the new FX but what he used to do with this track, with only two copies of the record, was more creative and devastating for its simplicity. And he used to let the track flow, until letting loose on the second breakdown. Here he's just jizzing FX in our faces every 5 seconds.
nah bro, IMO the point here was to play with the audience a bit... that track is so fkin famous that playing it in a some ordinary way would be boring AF - half of the people in the crowd probably heard it thousand times
@@jaromor8808 I agree, and that's exactly what he did when I saw him in 1996, he teased the audience with two copies of the track and he made something completely new out of it. I'm saying he overdid it on this occasion.
What can I say...what a tune, brings back memories..the drop...blows your head off!😍😃🩵💜
