The tires have a horrible wobble now (checked them without the liner, and it's def the tire) Another trick I found works is to just try a couple times, walk away clear your head, leave it in the sun, come back and try again. Eventually it'll go on, but new tires are horrendous.

my tips - lather the whole insert and your hands and the side wall of the tyre with a thin coat of detergent - the lubrication helped heaps through the whole process. use zip ties to hold the bead in place when doing the final part. so it does un ravel. massage/push the bead deep into the centre of the rim to create slack for the final part. hopefully these help
Huge tip. Just use zip ties. Lots of them. As you get both beads on then zip tie the tire very tight so that both beads are down in the center channel. Do that every few inches and it is MUCH easier. Took me an hour the first time. 10 min the second time
15 minute video probably took 15 days to fit them, there goes 2 hours of my life and its still not on . Then you run the risk of ruining the tape with tyre levers . Hands and thumbs killing me now ,I'll take my chances with flats . Will use it as draught excluder ,albeit an expensive one .

When I get to the second bead, the liner pushes the bead back out when I try to put the last bit in. It keeps about a foot of bead out perpetually. I just chase it around the rim for hours. When I pull the bead with the lever, it pops out the other side. Also, how do you get the bead to stay centered in the rim when the insert is designed to push the beads against the wall? That part doesn’t make any sense. I push the beads into the channel and the liner immediately squeezes them back. This is a massive pain in the ass.

What happens is the tannus keeps pushing the bead to the side of the rim when you get near the end... I finally go mine in by repeatedly pushing the tyre back into the middle of the rim, then getting it on a little more.. I would hold the tyre leavers in place with my feet push it into the middle again and get a little more until it was done. This video for the purpose of making it seem easy doesn't touch on how difficult this can be with the tannus pushing the bead against the outside of the rim even after you push it in... It's constantly working against you.
@@malintous1 I had to have my wife helping me out on the first install, I replaced the rear tire last week and gave up on the insert (its a DH casing tire) starting on a new front tire today and hopefully it'll go, let's see. I came to watch the video to see if I was missing anything but no.
I never comment on how to videos but this video gives no justice to putting new DH casing on. You need zip ties to hold bead, metal tire irons, and soap the back of your tire irons. I used two construction flat bars.

It's also a matter of tire and rim combination. I just removed a Magic Mary SuperGravity from my Duroc 40 wheel (36mm internal width) and mounted a (used) Continental DH Argotal instead. It didn't take too long and was actually relatively easy, but unfortunately I damaged the rim tape in the process. So I then decided to be lazy and mount the tire to a DT Swiss H1900 wheel with 30mm internal width instead, and it was an absolute horror. Took me an hour to install because the unlucky production tolerances made the fit so insanely tight, and I assume the narrower inner channel (the one where you want to push the tire bead and insert into) made it more difficult as well in comparison to the Duroc wheel.
This did not help me. The inserts are so folded. I laid them in the sun to warm but made no difference, I could not get the insert onto the rim even on one side after I got it in the tire. I could barely get the Tannus on the rim on its own without the tire.

Each Tannus Armour covers a certain range of tire widths, for those tires with a exact width of 4.0. You should choose the reference 20x3.0-4.0. For 4.10 the Tannus Armour reference that covers up to 4.8 tires
Sorry but this Video ist useless for me. Before I'm finish installing, my hands are tired. It is super hard to get the second side into the rim. The Video would make more sense if IT shows a good technic to press the insert into the rim!

All good. Actually I did not buy them with 100% certainty. I absolutely was assuming the combination to fail, given the already tight Tufo tyre. Like the Pirelli Cinturato gravel they just fit always very very tight. It’s already a challenge without an insert :)
My tubeless tape is harder to install then the inserts.😅 Since no sealend can reach my rims it holds air just an hour or so.. I'm working on a solution

I prefer velcro straps over of zip ties, so I don't have to produce unnecessary waste. Or use reusable zip ties if you have them.
used a space heater/hair dryer combo to soften up the tire and insert. heat helped alot!

I had to give up and put my old Vittoria Airliner back in. Getting the second bead on the rim was just impossible.

it was a mission and broke one of my tire levers on the last bit of bead but managed to put it on. All done in direct sunlight with about 20°C

I would even go so far and claim that the combination of a Tufo Thundero 700x40 and a (Tannus) insert will never fit onto a DT GRC1400 wheel 😆

While it is impossible for us to test every possible combination of tire, Armour, and wheel size, we have conducted thousands of tests using market standards, and we have consistently achieved successful installations. Some combinations may be more challenging than others, but we have never encountered an impossible installation.
Unfortunately, we have not specifically tested the combination you mentioned. However, we appreciate your feedback and we will make an effort to acquire that combination and conduct the necessary testing.

All good. Actually I did not buy them with 100% certainty. I absolutely was assuming the combination to fail, given the already tight Tufo tyre. Like the Pirelli Cinturato gravel they just fit always very very tight. It’s already a challenge without an insert :)
My tubeless tape is harder to install then the inserts.😅 Since no sealend can reach my rims it holds air just an hour or so.. I'm working on a solution
