In 2019 I had an e30 style shifter knuckle with the two pieces welded togeher fail on me while out for a spirited drive with some friends. Failed in 4th, just couldn't get it home. Happened on Canada day too which made getting a tow difficult.
fourth if you had flat land you could MAYBE start off in, but third was manageable haha I had the linkage fall apart on Brexit too a couple years back. in second luckily.
@@OvalboreCars Probably the worst part about it was the dssr bouncing off the aluminum 'guibo' for the few feet I tried to move it. Solid mount shifter made it difficult to remove on the side of the road. Oh well, it made for a fun story.
I feel like the same happened on my mustang, I have a 1500 dollar ceramic bullet proof clutch so I was able to make it off the freeway, but my car won’t leave 5th or 6th gear. No neutral, reverse, 1st/2nd/3rd or 4th.
would've been nicer on the clutch if you just pulled over and slapped it in and held it there to get home to fix it properly but oh well glad it wasn't worse

The cup is so simple but so many dummies fail at installing it correctly. Had a car come to me for the same issue recently
