Nice Dave! You're hardcore with your winter camping trips! and I HATE slush on a lake... ugh. Some of the hardest experiences of my life were trying to ice fish and drag gear with slush on a lake. Awesome trip though! :)
Nice video and nice aera, slushy, i think you forgot to clean the snow before making the holes. Thank's for bringing us with you during that tuff time.
Looked like a great trip. I’ve been ice fishing that area for 30 years or better. I live 50 miles south of there. Was that the gun barrels of a Savage 24C ? It looked like a 22 over a 20 gauge. Always a pleasure watching your videos. Stay safe. Peace
What is the page name? Just did another winter camp there one cove over.. found a 34" 11#pike but that was it.. couldnt find the weeds in resonable walking/fishing distance.
Always remember...a bad day of fishing is still better than a good day at work! Thanks for bringing us along. Nice to see you in the woods again. Take care and until next time...be well.
Great Trip and Nice additions to the snow trekker! Your stove pipe setup, is this the pipe clamp rig that is explained over on the winter camping symposium? Did you find it easier than your two dedicated Easton poles? I was curious how you did the shower curtain door. A heavy duty clear plastic cut to fit in-between the door and tent flap? Did you need to add Velcro to attach it?
Yeah thx. Its a clamp and I rigged some wire and fishing swivels to tie it off in 3 spots w tautline hitch to tighten. And yes to velcro on tent and vinyl shower curtain door. Make the door plastic a little wide for when the tent is staked n stretched out.
@@NatureIntoAction Thanks for the clarification. I finally got a Snowtrekker this year and have been trying to get everything dialed in. I was just out for 5 days on lower Saranac ice fishing this past week. I lashed the shower curtain door down, but the draft made the execution a little poor. I did figure out a nice baking setup. We dragged in a foldable Coleman camp oven and a small toaster oven pizza stone. It allowed us to have a really passive lunch while we paid attention to the tip ups.
I like those on the ice but think it would just get stuck in snow and low vegetation along a trail. I would get a 10ft long plastic sled if I was traveling any further. This was an old rail trail and luckily a xc skier had been out the day prior to mark the trail.
Nice one! Were you on the bear mountain side? East side? I did a lot of hunting there. I passed up a large body buck with small rack 2 miles in. They tase terrible up north.
West side of Janacks not far fron the leanto. That's cool, still on my bucket list to harvest an adk buck. Ate a NJ venison burger tonight with pan fried onion on a brioche bun and it was delicious. Good forage for them down here.
Very enjoyable video! You guys really put in an effort to haul all that gear back there and deal with all that slush but looks like it was worth it. Looks like that area is prettier in winter than in summer but it’s been a very long time since I been back there. Never in winter though. Anyway...love that hot tent setup you got and thanks for sharing that trip!!
Great video. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Mark
Great video and beautiful area. That’s why they call it fishing not catching. Thank you
True true..another visit could have been totally different.
Was so hoping you got some fish! Great video! Tent looked warm! Thank you for taking us along!
Thx for watching. We didnt get skunked. So it can still be called a fishing trip!
Looked like a good trip despite just one fish. But I bet it was good 👍
Great video David and looking forward to trout fishing as well
Thx Ray. We've had a full winter already w record snowfall..fishing for trout on open sunny water isnt far off
Great to see you again Green Frog! Great video!
Thx twotabbymom!
A great video look forward to these
thanks Bud

Ill have to try again next winter..but looking forward to trollin my hornbeck for brookies as soon as ice is out.
well done brotha, what effort put forth in this trip, nice looking pike and great pike. Glad you had a safe fun trip.
Thx Papa Rome. If it wernt for the rubber worm in that pikes belly it woulda been 60" easy.
@@NatureIntoAction yea that is crazy to find this time of year man some luck. very cool content, we enjoyed watching
Nice video and nice aera, slushy, i think you forgot to clean the snow before making the holes. Thank's for bringing us with you during that tuff time.
Thanks. We got smart after day 1 and pre cleared space so it would freeze solid overnight...still layers of slush and not much action.
You should make a Smitty Sled for your ice fishing adventures. Makes the pull so much easier.
Yeah that would be good to have but often so slushy and branchy it might slow me down.
nice! might enjoy some skis out there. i like the altai koms, keep ya gliding right on top of everything.
Yeah good call, that'd be fun to use. The slush locked up the snowshoes fast.
Great looking trip dude!
Thanks Keith

Great eye! 24D Series P. Beautiful place you live. Thanks for checkin in.
Cool, that is some NY Route 3 St Lawrence County Action.. I am going to share this on its accompanying FB page.

@@NatureIntoAction There is a link to its FB page, where I shared/posted this video
@@partygrove5321 what is the name of the fb group? Might like to join it. Thx
Awesome good times ! The slush can make things super tiring ! Great area ! Thanks for sharing ! Cheers
It sure can.. and you get nowhere fast. It's interesting how colder can be safer in winter.. cold is dry.. but the ADKS often have wet heavy snow.
@@NatureIntoAction Right on ! Again, thanks for sharing man !
Its been a while! Keep the good vids coming!
I may make a few local videos this spring in NJ.. trout flyfishing for rainbows or browns or tenkara for brookies and mix in wild edibles.
Always remember...a bad day of fishing is still better than a good day at work! Thanks for bringing us along. Nice to see you in the woods again. Take care and until next time...be well.
Thx Snapper. Cant beat the freshair n freedom!
I've camped at that location many times. Nice to see how it looks in the dead of winter.
I hope to see it in the warm weather and check out some of those remote ponds in the area.
I have a camp about a mile from Janacks landing!! You should see the pike we pull out of there in the summer!!

Awesome video David! Cant wait until spring thaw! Hoping its early this year.
Gotta check on those brookies. Good luck!
Great video. That’s some cardio workout man! Awesome area out there.
Forest gym
Need to look into making a smutty sled to go under those sleds like icefishermen use pulling would be a lot easier
That's a smitty sled

Thx Scott. Yeah definitely beauty in that winter landscape..and no bugs. The area has a lot to offer.
I dunno, that woodstove in the tent seems kind of hazardous.
Used it now 4 or 5 years..all good. Just kept me warm 2 nights at -25F loaded w red maple splits.
Is this the trip you were soliciting ideas for on Facebook?
Yeah, think so. Wanted to get over to a different bay at first but parking limitations and slush limited the options.
