I passed on it originally but, bought one new YEARS later. For about $85. Worth it. It's an Excellent representation of a Legendary game system AFTER you hack it.

someone should 3D print a neo geo aes shell and affix all the innards of the psmini in it. that'd be pretty bad ass. give the semblance of authenticity.
I bought cases and cases of these ps1 classics when they were cheap. I hacked the firmware and added 256 GB usb drives on them with hundreds of games. Made a lot of money that year 😂
I bought one of these for 20 bucks when they went on sale at best buy. I never used it, but I think it's time.

I appreciate you making these videos and being in my late 30's really means a lot that people like you are still remembering the old school games that we all grew up with in the 80's and through the 90's tells me that we all grew up during the best years of our lives. Thank for being there and remind us of our past youth.
The Neo-Geo X = The original Neogeo Classic Mini. It even predated the classic NES and many others. It's not a bad little system once you run the update and fix a lot of the emulation issues. It certainly looked like a mini Neo-Geo AES system. I also love how the portable system docks INSIDE of the AES system...like a Transformer of sorts. The controllers were also very close replicas of 1990 SNK sticks...microswitch clicky, even before they claimed it was too difficult to pull off.
Totally agree. Using a build like this in the neogeo x dock with a raspberry pi is the way to go as the graphics output is awesome. I still love my neogeo x

The hours I lost playing Blazing Star, Pulstar, Neo Drift Out, on a little homebrew PSP. You've got comprehensive Samurai Shodown there, and also the best dodgeball game period to this day full stop: Super Dodge Ball for MVS.

This build was inspired by the old Super Retro Cade builds from 2017 , a single system per SD card, was fun to make . And 64 gig micro SD card is around 15$ so it won't break the bank 😅.

Hello Magnus, I already download the MagnusRC NEOGEO Classic Mini Farewell to the PSC Vol-2 iso and it always appears in the retroarch, I can't get it to start with the video menu, the neo geo menu, the 59.4GB iso when the I unzip, the files show 33.8GB, I already tried to copy the iso to a Sony USB with balenaEtcher and Win32DiskImager and it still doesn't start correctly, all the other isos start perfectly, what could I be doing wrong?
I know that there is a link cable that connected the Neo Geo Pocket Color to the Sega Dreamcast. That was interesting thing that was released. It was also interesting that Sega allowed a Sonic game on the Neo Geo Pocket Color this was before Sega was going to go to Publishing. I guess that Sega figured if they could release a Sonic game on a Neo Geo handheld console then they could do it for other companies and make money if the Sega Dreamcast failed. Which we know did happen. Sega could of used that as a test game for being a publisher.
I like to keep all my minis pure to their original consoles, but load them up with tons of their own games. For my Neo Geo mini, I removed the motherboard from the little arcade cabinet and stuffed it in the mini AVS case that came with the Neo Geo X Gold. It was about $60 on Ebay. I flashed it with the 120+ game build that's out there for the Neo Geo mini and it's as close to a Neo Geo mini AVS console that we may ever get.
Do you still have to hack it by connecting it to a pc and "jailbreak" it, or do these new builds just have to be plugged in?

I feel like the hacking scene for the TG16 Mini started to pick up steam last year again and then died out again as well lol. I wish something would be released for that, all my other minis are hacked.
Yeah, me too. I am waiting for this system to get a hack. It's a shame that more games can't be added at the moment. Would be awesome.
Hardware is slightly weaker than the PSC. Just score a PSC for around $50 or less online. No special program required to mod, unlike Genesis, TG16, NES, and SNES minis. Once modded, many controller options are available. I tested my Qanba Obsidian fightstick on it. It can even support up to a 2TB harddrive with an OTG dongle and a descent power brick 👍
@@TexasHollowEarth I have every mini available, and they're all hacked with their full individual library's. I was just hoping to eventually do the same with the TG16 mini.

the problem with bezels is if you have an OLED display, you will get screen burn in, I hope theres an option to turn it off.

How long does it take this back-ups site to approve a new member? It's been a few days. And my PS is already modded and I use a thumb drive with games on it. Can I just put whatever this image is on a different one and plug it in instead this just works?
Can't never seem to find a link to the files needed to get the build. Or a proper tutorial. Just TH-camrs talking about how great it is and wasting everyone's time but not putting a link in the details.

I got true blue mini pump an dumps 500 games 4 flash drives but can't use analog sticks suck...once I got my kinhank x3 plus my ps classic got retired..., searching for the perfect retro console, kinhank x5 pro an beelink mini PC looks like the best

Damn, I want this so bad on mine but I bought mine previously modded with all PS1 games on it. The games all work but look terrible so I don't use it. If I got the usb drive and downloaded this build, do I just stick in the drive and it works?

What do i need besides the image file?
Are we supposed to mount the img file to a fat32 usb drive or simply copy the img file itself?
You need to use Etcher or win32 disk imager to write the image on your USB drive. Once you write it on your USB your windows PC will give you a message you need to format the drive don't do that it's formatted in ext4 and windows PC can't read that format. Just plug it in the PSC and it will boot the build

This build was made to run only SNK NEOGEO games , no other core on it for other systems.

@@overkast6841 you would need to set WIFI to be able to ad more games to it since it is formated in EXT4 Linux format, what games did you want to ad just currious :)

No offence, but if I have to rely on some random guy to load some NEOGEO roms on a PlayStation mini, I would rather program a Raspeberry Pi and slam it into a 3D printed AES box...
I got the .img but it said it was corrupted, any help?
Also, I tried the last one, the 128gb and same problem. And I have another 128 bundle and it takes like 12 hours or more to copy to a pendrive, is that normal?
Yes it's normal for other 128 gig builds to take a lot of time to transfer on a usb, this and the 128 gig build were made in ext4 format so you need to write it on your USB drive using Etcher or win32 disk imager once that is done your windows PC won't be able to read the USB and it's going to give you a message to format the drive. Don't do that it's normal to get this message just plug the USB in your PSC and it will boot the build.

It is kind of sad in a way that the community had to step up to fix SONY lazyness.
Whatever. The hardware is still more powerful than EVERY other mini console, except for the Amiga 500 mini, which is more powerful than the PSC. That's it. Sega didn't even bother updating the hardware for the Genesis 2.... just put a new shell on it 👎
@@TexasHollowEarth as far as I'm concerned none of the classic mini are worth it unless you like how they look . For emulation I rather use a PC

I do agree that , was clearly a cash grab from SONY to get on the classic mini craze of that time period.
Roms are mb's. ISOs are 100s of MBs. This hardware blows away the other minis, minus the A500 mini. I'll take better hardware for the $.
@@TexasHollowEarth you can get a small PC for less than 100$ that will run circles around both of those classics just time to move on from those things as far as I'm concerned
