I was never a fan of any sort of driving game, and then during lockdown I started playing FH4 online with a friend's autistic son to give them a bit of a breather, and I bloody love it. It's become one of my favourite games, not only because of the fun we've had together playing it. We also play FH3 and FH5 too, but the setting of FH4 is superlative compared to them, and it just looks so damn good... I've actually been to several of the locations, and live about 20 minutes drive from one of them! (Ladybower Dam)
Thanks for this reminder - I already have FH4 (physical copy) + both expansions (digital, of course) on Xbox but just paid $25AUD for the Ultimate edition on Steam, as I am still kicking myself for not getting in on FH2 and FH3's expansions before they did the same thing to those games...
This fact is why Forza Horizon 1 is my final Forza game. Honestly it's more fun to emulate Forza Motorsport 1 (Xbox 360) on Steam Deck than play endless spending and catch up on the latest Forza fad game
Thinking of playing Forza Horizon 4 or 5 and actually playing them are two completely different things to me... On one hand, you imagine awesome physics and well-looking graphics, thinking here it is, finally a game where you can just relax and mindlessly drive your favourite car. On the other hand, you get a tutorial handholding simulator where you have to navigate through endless rows of menus and wait on your phone for the characters speaking in an awfully fake tone to finish and let you finally race in a racing game.
I have a second-hand gamer PC with a GeForce GTX 1060 card from 2016 and the best compromise for smoothness for me is playing Forza Horizon 4 in 1080p 4:3 aspect ratio with various individual settings either on high or ultra (I'm not bothered by the black bars on either side of my screen). I'm not sure of the exact framerate but I don't notice any stuttering or slowdown the way I did when I was initially playing it fullscreen at 1440p.
I got FH4 when I got FH5, but haven't installed it yet. I'm just about saturated with FH5 (hit 2,999/10 via grinding). FH4 looks nice and I look forwards to running it after the new PC systems are built. Best to all.
What specs you have ?, this game ran run on most crap pc as long you dont use really crap gpu like intel hd, gt 730 or slower . If you have gpu that perfrom like gt 1030 ddr5 or higher it should handle the game
I remember playing this on a first gen i7 with a gt1030. It played fine, with a reasonable expectation of performance in mind. Can't believe it's being delisted. I knew it was only a matter of time since horizon 5 had come out, but at least it's only delisted for now.
I logged into my Steam on friend's PC when we were hanging out at his place, and his 5600+1070ti ran this all maxed 70+ FPS. My 1080 used to run it 100+ on a 1080wide all maxed. Really cool game.
Thanks for the heads up, just bought the Ultimate Edition on Steam for £16.99, been meaning to go back and play this as it's in the UK (like me), my hand has been forced it seems.
I absolutely love Forza Horizon 4, the British countryside setting was perfect, and I love how each season change is very significant. It's a shame its getting delisted.
I bought this game full price. And it was the last Forza game I spent money on. That's not how I wanna be treated as a customer. The map is amazing and at least it should have been integrated in FH5 or something.
I really wish game publishers would all stand up against unsustainable licenses, what are car companies going to do? Say no to what is essentially free money? I think the main options would be permanent licenses on a game by game basis, or a cut off all sales and other profits. The publishers get to sell the game for ages, the car companies get money for doing nothing and free advertising on top of that, and we get to buy and enjoy older racing games, it seems like a win-win-win to me.
I have a good memories with this game, i used to play it on Xcloud gaming service but now i have a Decent gaming PC so i just bought the Ultimate Edition on steam so i wont regret later.
to me, this was when it all started to go downhill. "ok this is one too many with the same formula. innovate already". my favorite are the first 3, but i think i liked 3 the best because you could do the campaign in coop.
I bought 4 and 5 because both have the Reliant Regal Supervan and I am one of them sad nutters who actually owns a Reliant 3 wheel van albeit a MK2 Robin and is one of the most awesome experiences driving these rural Dorset roads.
I've bought this Horizon on steam. But the 5th is locked in my region so I've bought it on key seller, they send a gift for me and everything was fine. I hope games will stop being delisted from stores.
Even with the discount I can't afford the ultimate edition, won't bother getting only the standard, it is what it is. I played it for a few hours long ago with a free game pass trial, really fun game, shame to see it die for no reason.
I had to buy it a few months ago. I remembered having it on my Xbox One S and thought I also owned it already via Microsoft Store but I guess I never did. Definetely worth the $20 for the Ultimate Edition.
The game is still playable and you get daily achievements and a season challenge, but you are still only able to purchase one car each season regardless of the number of credits, I did get Forza Island in a Steam sale a while back but did not bother with the leggo DLC, and all the DLC cars are still listed in the game but not purchasable.
If I own it, but don't currently have it downloaded, will I be able to download it after that date as well or is it completely gone unless you have all files installed?
i just need to say how much forza horizons games have bangers of a soundtrack, this one just oozes good music, i keep listening to the playlist all the time, also the 5th...sadly, as good as they are, the music in part 2 and 3 are still the best ones, especailly part 2, such good music, they really spare no expense getting amazing bands for this series.
Just here to note that while I had a good time going through the singleplayer content I was looking forward to just doing actual online races only to find out that not only did matchmaking for basic races work atrociously poorly to the point it'd be a 15 minutes wait on average to find a race but that this has also been an issue for most of the game's lifetime. To me that's practically a scam. Online racing game with no basic online racing.
I played a lot of FH4 on a 3600 + 1060 3gb. The gpu handles it wonderfully, aside from the vram. And that warning is more or less permanent on Fortune Island, but who cares! Epic mountain drift.
Not sure if every region is the same, but the ultimate edition is less than the standard edition here in Australia on the Microsoft store and Xbox app. $15 compared to $20 and you get a heap of extra content. Do not buy the standard edition. If you don't insist on buying on steam the game is considerably cheaper on the xbox app and MS store.
If you "buy it" because companies want to change that term, you still risk losing the game if the company wants to do that so I don't know if I am going to buy it. On other sites FH4 Ultimate is 14 euro, instead of 20 euro on Steam. But again, they can take it away at any time unfortunately. The only thing they can't take is the pirated version which you can still play online(works with FH5 too) so if companies keep being anti-consumer then I highly encourage anyone to just pirate or buy from GOG, from what I know they offer offline installers and they can't be taken away. Your choice gamers, make companies pay by you not buying their games if they treat us like we don't matter.
You will lose the festival playlist, but everything else will still be available to owners. Apart from festival things, you can still earn achievements and play online games.
I'd love to continue playing it but it'd be a bit more fun with a community for fh4 to do whatever and help people that just got the game to do whatever
It's so expensive for a game, which is being delisted. I'm of those people, who usually buy "ultimate" editions, because I don't like missing out on content, but I decided to never play Forza Horizon 4 rather than pay this price.

Thanks for the video, been meaning to pick this up for awhile.
Best Horizon game. If you haven't got it, then get it now!
I love playing FH4. Sometimes when I’m bored I’ll hop in a car and just drive around aimlessly for hours
I got FH4 when I got FH5, but haven't installed it yet. I'm just about saturated with FH5 (hit 2,999/10 via grinding). FH4 looks nice and I look forwards to running it after the new PC systems are built. Best to all.
I already purchased this game a few months ago but can not play it due to my low-end pc 😅
what are your specs bro?
You are doing everything wrong - purchase parts for your PC, and get the games on high seas 😁
What specs you have ?, this game ran run on most crap pc as long you dont use really crap gpu like intel hd, gt 730 or slower . If you have gpu that perfrom like gt 1030 ddr5 or higher it should handle the game
How low end is your PC because this one of the most optimized game released in the last decade
@@Mystical_Deen indeed it is, if you lock it at 60fps it can even run on a 13 year old i5 2500(at stock speed).
Might have to get this.. Thanks for the reminder!!
I absolutely love Forza Horizon 4, the British countryside setting was perfect, and I love how each season change is very significant. It's a shame its getting delisted.
I bought this game full price. And it was the last Forza game I spent money on. That's not how I wanna be treated as a customer. The map is amazing and at least it should have been integrated in FH5 or something.
fitgirl my beloved
Shutout to BeamNG, a driving game that really deserves attention and only costs few bucks more.
I didn't expect this video to be a "life story: British road rage & more"
Forza Horizon 4 was the best Horizon game up until they added the utterly bonkers and completely brutally broken collision slowdown mechanic.
Didn't expect you to roast the country of UK in a video
Thanks for the heads up, truly!
Playing this while listening to Top Gear Radio show on the background is epic
I have a good memories with this game, i used to play it on Xcloud gaming service but now i have a Decent gaming PC so i just bought the Ultimate Edition on steam so i wont regret later.
This is one of a good reminder! Thank you, Steve!❤
Bought it a few weeks ago for this exact reason! Loving it!
to me, this was when it all started to go downhill. "ok this is one too many with the same formula. innovate already". my favorite are the first 3, but i think i liked 3 the best because you could do the campaign in coop.
I wish the sale was more aggressive. Ubisoft gave away TC2 for $1 and that game isn't even being delisted. 80% off is still too low
Love FH4, in my view it’s better than 5, although that’s the one I’ve played the most. Going to have to grab it from Steam 👍🏻
Removing it from game pass is diabolic.
This is top 10 car games for me. Had a blast ;(
This is my favorite, so much so, I've yet to try the newest.
Will you be testing the Intel B580 and B570 cards when they release? I'm very interested in your benchmarks.
Yeah xbox talks about game preservation and then I was gutted to find that you couldn't get the original forza horizon anymore. Loved that game.
If I own it, but don't currently have it downloaded, will I be able to download it after that date as well or is it completely gone unless you have all files installed?
It should still be on their servers, the licensing just means they can't continue to sell it.
@@Jalex0021 Cool, thank you!!
i just need to say how much forza horizons games have bangers of a soundtrack, this one just oozes good music, i keep listening to the playlist all the time, also the 5th...sadly, as good as they are, the music in part 2 and 3 are still the best ones, especailly part 2, such good music, they really spare no expense getting amazing bands for this series.
Online racing game with no basic online racing.
they should release it on GOG then. Why the heck not? So sick of all this legalese hell
If you actually read Steam's TOS, no games you own are actually yours and can be provoked at any time. That's why I love disc copies of games
I played a lot of FH4 on a 3600 + 1060 3gb. The gpu handles it wonderfully, aside from the vram. And that warning is more or less permanent on Fortune Island, but who cares! Epic mountain drift.
I got FH5 now but I still play this more LOL it just feels more nicer to cruise around
Glad we have preservers for the sailors
Not sure if every region is the same, but the ultimate edition is less than the standard edition here in Australia on the Microsoft store and Xbox app. $15 compared to $20 and you get a heap of extra content. Do not buy the standard edition. If you don't insist on buying on steam the game is considerably cheaper on the xbox app and MS store.
Ford Escort x ❤ x really puts what we lost in car design into focus.
Seems like a silly oversight not to add a link to the steam page in the description, no?
"If you own it you can still play it after this date" - Most 2024 comment ever
Forza Horizon 4..... Or as it's better known, A calm Sunday drive in the English country side.
DRM-FREE digital, Emulation and Public domain helps solve game preservation.
Pirates and Preservationists are bound to cross paths. If you can find the means of obtaining Forza Horizon 3 on PC I'd highly recommend you do so
Best Forza to date. I get car companies would probably keep charging
You will lose the festival playlist, but everything else will still be available to owners. Apart from festival things, you can still earn achievements and play online games.
lmao theyre taking out the music too after delisting? great..
@@oshjames9648 it will not, it didn't happen for the other forzas that got delisted why would it this time ?
I'd love to continue playing it but it'd be a bit more fun with a community for fh4 to do whatever and help people that just got the game to do whatever
Just sail into the high seas. No shame on this one, not even 10 years yet.
FH4 Best forza game (cause in UK)
$12 on Steam - thought it would be much less but those licensing fees demand royalties!
It's so expensive for a game, which is being delisted. I'm of those people, who usually buy "ultimate" editions, because I don't like missing out on content, but I decided to never play Forza Horizon 4 rather than pay this price.
Damn love Forza it visually still hold up and overall well optimized
This is what happens when gaming franchises get treated like disposable slop by their creators.
