In fact the power adjustment s are made by the autothrotlle. Just on short final pilots usually disconnect it (specially under these conditions). Good job though on the landing.
Really depends. On the 737 it is recommended that when you disconnect AP you also disconnect the auto throttle. Regarding when to disconnect it can depend on the pilot in fact you want to disconnect earlier to fully be able to feel the plane. With such winds disconnecting in the last 500ft isn’t the best as you don’t have enough time to transition into manual flight and feel the wind, the plane
That was a great landing, period. I don't know anything about Ryan other than being a low cost Irish airline. Why do they get so many negative comments? They don't operate in my part of the world.
Concorde man, You can not even land the part in the FSX or P3D under this wind constellations. Before you judge pilots as a shit I suggest you first inform yourself what is required here in Europe for editions, training, etc. to get into such a cockpit at all. There is little difference between Ryanair, EasyJet or Lufthansa pilots
@@concordeman9636 how many aircraft accidents are there in Russia per year compared to other European countries? you literally used the worst possible example
Chasing the airspeed, up then down, then up then down. Good technique is to accept the gains and wait for the speed to fall off again without a massive thrust change. This avoids having to make another huge increase to compensate for the lost airspeed that the pilot exacerbated over and over again by chopping the thrust every time there was an increase. It creates a repeating cycle. That’s why there were huge rpm changes all the way down final. It’s an overlooked technique, but a lot of times when it looks like a pilot is fighting this hard, he’s doing a lot of it to himself.
pilotguy707 Yes, actually I have, many times. What I was writing about was a general proper technique, vs specifically about the 73. These massive rpm changes are clearly over controlling simply by the fact that none of them are maintained to observe the result of the change. Typically, if the pilot was not flying in a reactionary manner, but in a proactive ahead of the plane manner, the thrust would be maintained for a period of time to observe how the aircraft is responding to the change, I’m talking about seconds. Then, the pilot would make a slight adjustment from that point to fine tune what the airplane needs for that moment, and on down the line. Even in the most extreme situations, you can operate in a window of about 10% N1, with no massive increases followed by massive decreases that we see here. In this case, it seems as though the thrust is being changed so constantly that this pilot is truly making his job much more difficult. You really don’t need to be fast with the thrust to maintain a stable approach in any conditions, except a true wind shear, but even then you can move the levers as fast as you want, and you’ll just be waiting on the engines to respond anyway.
pilotguy707 Good, so we’re on the same page and I didn’t need to write all that stuff I wrote above. I still think this particular guy was a bit all over the place as far as thrust control, and I do agree that sometimes you’ve got to be quick, but this specific case seems mismanaged to me, from a technique perspective. I agree the flap over speed limit is the biggest challenge to avoid, especially if flaps 40 is required on a windy day.

TV’s?
I was expecting a slam
Nice landing especially for Ryanair
Hahaha
Flapsnslats usually they have those hard landings
That’s the comment I came here to add :) Pilot did a great job considering the conditions!
This is the only kind of landing I have experienced with Ryanair, on two flights.
Nick Same with me.
Captain was prolly fired for using up all of ryanair's butter reserve for one landing...
"I've been waiting my whole career for this moment"
😂
I really hope he managed to blame the near-terrain wind shear in softening what supposed to be a normal Ryanair'ish landing.
rigor m here we go 😅XD
Smoothest landing I have ever seen for a cross wind landing
AND..ITS FROM RYANAIR
@@sushilsapkota4117 .haha. so funny. :/ its old. And not funny
@@KrisP_Lv Its still relevant
@@KrisP_Lv it isn't a joke though lol its true
Neither have I !
The pilot got fired for violating Ryanair's safety policy by landing smoothly
Hehe
Negrold ...

30 Knot crosswind and a smooth landing by Ryanair....
Generic_ mindblown lol
Really weard lol
The end times!
The wind were payed actors.
WTF is going on
For Ryanair, that was actually a smooth landing 👏👏
actually that was a smooth landing not only for Ryanair))
Ethangumz967 77 it was a really smooth landing period dude
Wow! Considering the whole wing and engine nacelle were doing a hard dance, the landing was quite butter.
4:28 I thought they were going around when I heard that almost TOGA!
You have to pay extra for a go around with Ryanair

Ryanair pilot does phenomenal landing in crosswind, like BUTTA.
RYANAIR: *Too smooth of a landing, you're FIRED.*
Congrats RyanAir on a beautiful landing!
GREAT Job Captain👏👍

Flying Dutchman dude this is Boeing! Not some toy like airbus or our flight simulator! 😅😂
Actually autothrottle is very slow. In such conditions they will overide it to keep the speed.

Piotr Kuler yes I agree with you fully, the 737’s auto throttle has a massive delay which we would not use in these conditions
Beautiful approach and greaser landing ! Thanks for the video!
Best landing I have ever seen for RyanAir

Who ever edited that Ryanair on the wing needs a pay rise because that wasn’t a Ryanair landing
It is ryanair maybe it improved the landing

That was an excellently handled approach, pilots with experience for once
INCREDIBLE RYAN AIR YOU DIDNT TERRORIZE YOUR WHOLE FLIGHT
Awesome video man!!! And some skill piloting
It reminded me of landing at McCarran Airport on JetBlue. Once from Long Beach in 2002 and the other direct from Queens N.Y.(JFK)2004
I think this gotta be the smoothest landing for Ryanair
did not expected butter here its freaking ryanair
Surprisingly smooth wtf
I guess the pilots got fired from Ryanair
Really nice landing. Ryanair is not that bad, I've flown with them so many times. 👍
Wow, it's a greaser! Wasn't expecting that after all the buffeting :)
