JGirDesu actually, if your hours are Lower than your average hours, you’ll receive some unemployment, also, you can claim that you or your family has been affected and you have to stay home, ie a single parent has to stay home and watch the kids because school is out, you can qualify for unemployment
The last stimulus check I used it to pay off all of my debts and saved the rest. The next if so I'll invest it or give bigger tips to waiters and waitresses who deserve it.

@tlessmo I won't make any bets against it becoming a decession, we'll have to see the market's reaction after the lockdown is lifted. At this point a negative reaction to bottlenecking the economy is certain coupled with the ludicrous amount of new money artificially entering the economy diluting its value (à la grace to the $3T stimulus package). When quarantine is over and people start spending their checks, free money, the market will justly readjust pricing, everyday commodities start becoming gradually expensive and our money become increasingly worth less the government will start stepping in again. Not to mention that the government will need to collect funding for the bills and programs, by taxation and will undoubtedly increase taxes.

You have to understand we as bankers don’t wash and sanitize all that dirty money going in and out of the bank and provide essential financial services . Banks have been shut down over this and replacement teams go in to reopen in these conditions. if it wasn’t for bankers you would not have access to cash , documents notarized , wire transfers done , and new business accounts for your ppp loans I have worked the last 50 + days straight only taking a few hours off on Sunday to get people their stimulus money and ppp money and other financial services they need not want. The stimulus check should also include people who have been laid off and not just people making under $75,000. Lots of people who are unemployed make more than 100k in adjusted gross income.
There are a lot of people in oil and gas that are unemployed. The oil and gas industry is one of the most affected during this time. Also hospitals are losing revenue because elective surgeries are not being performed. This means high paying doctors/surgeons who perform these high dollar surgeries are not getting paid.

I live in Europe. The governments here are being even more liberal when it comes to giving out free money/welfare during this crisis. I am not a European citizen nor do I have permanent residency here, I'm only here on a temporary residence permit, and even I am receiving about €1,520 euros ($1,700 dollars) per month of free money. From what I understand, Japan is being similarly as liberal. If anything, post crisis, the US dollar will be strengthened relative to other currencies in the world.

Yeah unfortunately both my direct deposit and address the IRS had on file were wrong. I filed my 2019 taxes but they had already mailed it to my old address. I don't know if I will ever get it. I put in another change of address and updated my Direct deposit via my 2019 return so I am hoping I will get any future payments and I hope there is some way to get the previous stimulus payment via 2020 tax returns.

"If you can 'afford' the risk, should you up your monthly payments with Nelnet or whoever in order to potentially meet the 10K cap?" My situation is not 100% generalizable in that I'm below the poverty line, but I think that this 1 question could make the difference in establishing a padded emergency fund or even purchasing health insurance.

I am a full time college student and I volunteer and had unpaid internships last year so I didn't have time to work; thus, I didn't file taxes. I will get nothing from this even though it had been revised and I feel cheated. The virus has prevented me from doing paid research this summer and this money could really help me pay off my loans.

This would change the game for people in poverty. I absolutely agree front line workers should get an extra $13 an hour especially since people not working can collect $600 plus per week. I for one would make much more money being unemployed right now. There is no incentive to continue to work. Luckily I love my job working with senior citizens and when you have a job you love it doesn't feel like work. I know that someone has to do my job and not many people are running to work with seniors right now. Because of this I feel like paying healthcare/frontline workers an extra $13 an hour is the least they can do. It seems unfair that we are expected to risk our lives for $11 an hour.

At this point a negative reaction to bottlenecking the economy is certain coupled with the ludicrous amount of new money artificially entering the economy diluting its value (à la grace to the $3T stimulus package). When quarantine is over and people start spending their checks, free money, the market will justly readjust pricing, everyday commodities start becoming gradually expensive and our money become increasingly worth less the government will start stepping in again. Not to mention that the government will need to collect funding for the bills and programs, by taxation and will undoubtedly increase taxes.

You have to understand we as bankers don’t wash and sanitize all that dirty money going in and out of the bank and provide essential financial services . Banks have been shut down over this and replacement teams go in to reopen in these conditions. if it wasn’t for bankers you would not have access to cash , documents notarized , wire transfers done , and new business accounts for your ppp loans I have worked the last 50 + days straight only taking a few hours off on Sunday to get people their stimulus money and ppp money and other financial services they need not want. The stimulus check should also include people who have been laid off and not just people making under $75,000. Lots of people who are unemployed make more than 100k in adjusted gross income.
There are a lot of people in oil and gas that are unemployed. The oil and gas industry is one of the most affected during this time. Also hospitals are losing revenue because elective surgeries are not being performed. This means high paying doctors/surgeons who perform these high dollar surgeries are not getting paid.
People are getting 4200 a month take home from unemployment that should suffice

The bill includes a section that says the year of mortgage payments would be deferred. That means you’d just have to keep making payments for a year more than if you hadn’t done it. Meet kevin did a video on it.

I live in Europe. The governments here are being even more liberal when it comes to giving out free money/welfare during this crisis. I am not a European citizen nor do I have permanent residency here, I'm only here on a temporary residence permit, and even I am receiving about €1,520 euros ($1,700 dollars) per month of free money. From what I understand, Japan is being similarly as liberal. If anything, post crisis, the US dollar will be strengthened relative to other currencies in the world.

Yeah unfortunately both my direct deposit and address the IRS had on file were wrong. I filed my 2019 taxes but they had already mailed it to my old address. I don't know if I will ever get it. I put in another change of address and updated my Direct deposit via my 2019 return so I am hoping I will get any future payments and I hope there is some way to get the previous stimulus payment via 2020 tax returns.

"If you can 'afford' the risk, should you up your monthly payments with Nelnet or whoever in order to potentially meet the 10K cap?" My situation is not 100% generalizable in that I'm below the poverty line, but I think that this 1 question could make the difference in establishing a padded emergency fund or even purchasing health insurance.
My parents file me as a dependent even though they don't provide for me financially. I am a full time college student and I volunteer and had unpaid internships last year so I didn't have time to work; thus, I didn't file taxes. I will get nothing from this even though it had been revised and I feel cheated. The virus has prevented me from doing paid research this summer and this money could really help me pay off my loans.

This would change the game for people in poverty. I absolutely agree front line workers should get an extra $13 an hour especially since people not working can collect $600 plus per week. I for one would make much more money being unemployed right now. There is no incentive to continue to work. Luckily I love my job working with senior citizens and when you have a job you love it doesn't feel like work. I know that someone has to do my job and not many people are running to work with seniors right now. They are getting more pay. For crying out loud. Stop complaining. They pay taxes, the stimulus is their money anyways. They got let go. You can’t just quit your job, it’s stated clearly you will get nothing. Those people who were let go, haven’t received any money for 2 months or more. So they are behind on everything. Stop pointing fingers. We want to work. I make too much to get a measly 1200 bucks, and even with $600 - it still don’t make my paycheck or cover my bills. 70% of the country lives pay check to paycheck. Even when we open 25% or 5O%. There will be millions of people who won’t be able to find work because there is no jobs. Do You understand that. Seriously smh.

What do you do for the truckers that don't get paid hourly??? We get paid mileage and most companies aren't paying hazard pay, I agree I would make more on unemployment right now
Does everyone in these comments only make 10-15 an hour or something? I am constantly hearing people pissed that unemployment folks are getting 800-1000 a week. That’s only 20-25 bucks an hour at 40hr work weeks. If you are not making 20-25 an hour or even more at a skilled position you should look for other work. imho 🤷🏻♂️

I work in fast food and we haven't stopped at all we actually make more money now then b4. I still only make less than 1200 a month so another stimulus check would help alot
The student loan wording looks like it only applies to PRIVATE student loans, not public ones

Actually it applies to both. However at the moment, they are only gonna give this student loan forgiveness to those who are in an "economic hardship" which they equated to those who have not been making payments and their loans are delinquent as of March

Womp womp, never understood why ppl who mortgage their future for an "education" to obtain a career they've never experienced. I'd consider that a very, very stupid life decision and an utter waste of time.
As a student who worked hard to graduate early in December only to be stuck in a position where I cannot find any jobs in my field this would help me A LOT. It would get rid of my student loans. Allow me to collect that bonus unemployment. And I was claimed as a dependent. Like this would actually benefit my life in such a positive way until I can get a job and start building my career. I really hope it passes.
What's sad is not recognizing, that the average single family with two-3 kids spends 1200 alone on groceries.
In actuality this and the last bill was an insult to the majority of families who live not by choice, paycheck to paycheck.
