Surfside is a small surfing/fishing village compared to Galveston. Surfside does not have 4M+ visitors a year like Galveston. The food is tasty, the beaches are clean, the water is blue and the fishing is great. If you find yourself priced out of Galveston, Surfside could be a great option! Are you finding yourself priced out of Galveston for a vacation home? Surfside Beach Texas is conveniently located south of Houston. A bit more laid back than Galveston. fisherman, surfers, adventure seekers and beach lovers will love Surfside Beach.

There used to be a man there my parents knew really well he had some rent houses there I don't know if he is even still alive but we lived in a house that had a travel trailer attached to it for another room I believe his name was tarter

Sharron, over the last 30 yearsI keep hearing there are water quality issues sometimes at the Surfside Beach area. Is this still an issue? Thx

Surfside beach residents do complain of water quality issues. Mostly resolved through in home water treatment systems.
