That tire is about 450 , but when you get a heavier tire you have to move your feet back some . And lift at and angle , as it gets to waist height you pop it with your knee . To get time to drop back in the hole . So you can push it on over.
cress1974 if you have to bring your feet back to create leverage to help lift a heavier tire you should probably use a lighter tire. Otherwise your risk vs. reward of the movement is now compromised . Lighter tire and work on mechanics and speed .
Adam Schafer it's kool , i just like the challenge of the heavy tires. Got one that i flip . It's a little over 900 . I like that it takes a lot of body force to flip it. Can only get 4 and I'm done with it. I have one the same size at the one y'all are flipping. Me and my son will flip it the way y'all where showing. Like the podcast a lot . The videos are rockin too. Just watch these Mai tais!
@@impelcrato9258 my tire is off a rubber tire loader . It has about 3 inches more tread. I weighed it and it’s 440 . If you don’t believe me look up the tire and get the numbers off it. Than look it up . It will show you the shipping weight.
I agree with Mighty Succ, my tyre weighs four hundred pounds and is 5' 6" tall. It takes a lot of effort to raise it off the ground and I do 18 reps, then I bray at it with a sledge hammer to get my back moving. To do it three or four times would be a waste.
I second the comments that with a heavier tyre you will need to go from your initial lift, to a transition, and push. I am 105 KG and train with 400 sometimes 500 KG tyres. You cant flip them in one movement lifr that. Unless you are the Hulk. Thanks for the video though.
with a lighter tire why would you strongman lift it? It's so low to the ground, unless you're extremely short your body is going to be at way too acute of an angle to lift it
I found a 400 lb tire I loaded it up and now I’m flipping it. I don’t have any weight lifting equipment. So I took finding it as a sign to get into shape.
Agree with the other comments. This only works on a lighter tire. And I always use it as a FINISHER to fatigue. I find this ass backwards. Tire flips, sledgehammer, prowlers, always finishers to drain the tank. I would never use it as a primer.. probably crossfitters..🤣
When I flipper a 150 lbs tire for 12-20 times I get out of breath a little bit and dizzy. Is this normal or there is some medical problem? This is the only exercise that make me dizzy after intensive repititions.
Don't worry but don't push it. Take a break when it happens, get back to it. Used to happen to me quite often especially with tire flips. Just have to build the conditioning for it and it'll go away within a couple of weeks from my experience
put your hands outside of your legs. this stance is too close, its like a deadlift. good way to tear a bicep. drop the hips and bury your shoulders into the tire
How not to flip a HEAVY tire. You will be at a high risk of bicep tears. You want to see a good tire flip look how Strongman flip them. NARROW STANCE! Straight arms and Wide grip! On your toes not a flat footed and push your SHOULDERS INTO THE TIRE AND LIFT AT THE SAME TIME. Than once you get it off the ground you explode the hips like a power clean. Triple extension!
👍get priorities right doing tyre flips and slam balls for reps is an exercise in futility-endurance and explosive protocols are hard to marry. best solution I got is bigamy mind you polygamy sounds far more promising.
This is the opposite of the correct way to lift a tire. Please do not follow this advice. You will injure you’re back and biceps. Look up Alan thralls video
I see these comments everywhere and it's bad information. Strongman tire flips are with a much bigger tire and requires a different stance. You're not going to tear a bicep or have back problems if you lift a tire the size in this video if done as shown.
Peter Lestelle yes. You are. Strongman tires would be even harder to lift this way. Because they’re longer and wider, and therefore would be more difficult to get leverage straight underneath like that. He’s lifting a lighter, smaller tire, which is why he’s able to get away with lifting it like that.
I think what a waste of time this is. Just roll it. Go..... Why not have a digging competition. Ide watch that. First heat at the beach. Make yo sandy holes. 🤪 2nd heat gravel beach mayb. 3rd heat. 🐄🐮 💩 💩 💩 like mind craft. Or grassy feild. Under a tree. Dig the damn tree out find yay big tree trunks Nd dig it up.. Pt4. I get the power focus...but I don't think there is anything wrong with flipping it to exhaustion. It is quite simple...flip big tire get strong
Its about focus and power

@@cress1974 awesome beard Dude !!
Every other video on how to flip a tire says NOT to do what this video says....
LOVE this boys! This is a GOAL for me and I want to ensure I do it like a BOSS!
Man today I did that same exact tire and I could barely flip it’s 10 times and made me tired asf but work hard
yes, its a heavy tire

Absolutely Right> Its all about the power
Is this the converse club? lol
Converse are flat. You want flat shoes when you do squats or lifts. Better for your posture
Yes yes it is

I cam here thinking you'd show me how to lift a real tire
Is this true
Is that the normal size of a tire?
I second the comments that with a heavier tyre you will need to go from your initial lift, to a transition, and push. I am 105 KG and train with 400 sometimes 500 KG tyres. You cant flip them in one movement lifr that. Unless you are the Hulk. Thanks for the video though.
Is this about flipping tyres or love island
thought Sal was gonna go into the tire at the end 😁
What size is the tire and how much does it weight? Iam deciding what weight to buybfir my home gym?
Its says 450
This is the most informative video I’ve ever seen!!
Almost everything said in this video is incorrect. This might work with a very light tire but not heavy ones.
with a lighter tire why would you strongman lift it? It's so low to the ground, unless you're extremely short your body is going to be at way too acute of an angle to lift it
@@pastelle_music that is true. But they never distinguish different techniques. The video is titled how to PROPERLY lift a tire.
Wow, they are lying to us??

Can someone tell me the size of that tire and model
I don tknow
How much does that tyre weigh? 😊
450 they say

So...the heavier the tire the farther you are and the lighter the tire the closer you are?
yes definitely
2:19 that doesn't look like a neutral spine to me... Careful doing this if you have bulging discs. Its basically a deadlift.
Check out Alan Thrall's video, it shows the correct technique.
Thank you for sharing, I was about to use that technique
Glad it helped. Hope it helps others too.
Ok and now try that with a really heavy tyre...
Caterpillar 797 tire has entered the chat
This is wrong...specially regarding leg positioning. It's not a deadlift!

You cannot deadlift a heavy tire this doesn’t work

I noticed that as well
Cool

And now a heavy tyre?
Man tires are supposed to roll the other wat
No!
They made it popular ? Haha dude mma fighters made it popular .. tf
That no 450lbs more like150 !!!
And at 6 7 8. Hundred pound tires ...there's no way you'll lift them up like that technique!!!!
look at their legs , like chinese chopsticks .... cant do flip for nuts !! lol
lol these look like avg dudes in college why would I take their advice? Go watch the video by Grant Higa. He's a real strongman.
So you wouldn't then take heaving lifting advice from a skinny Chiropractor or Physio.
