皇帝（半日安飾）欣賞霍華（新馬師曾飾）年少英才， 將皇妹金枝（羅艷卿飾）許配給他。金枝美艷聰慧，卻驕橫任性，連同皇后（鳳凰女飾），要霍華通過文比武鬥才肯下嫁。
In recognition for Fok Wah (by Sun Ma Si Tsang)'s contribution to country, the Emperor (by Poon Yat On) marries his sister, Princess Kam-Chi (by Law Yim Hing) to this stately general. But the spoiled and temperamental princess and the Empress (by Fung Wong Nui) sets up a series of tests for the groom before marriage.
