The issue here is the NYT wrote this story first and then sent "journalists" out to justify their false conclusions. It speaks volumes they had to resort to a small time filmmaker with no journalism experience and a food blogger to do their dirt.

To be fair, parts of the report are original, like the leaks, and maybe the Hebrew interview with Anat, because I didn't hear about it before their article, I do wish the credit would be shared among all the outlets that were way ahead, nothing wrong with admitting it's a collaborative effort.
They did a ton of reporting and also they're more careful and have higher standards than Greyzone and EI. It's ok to be patient and thorough.

This guy is full of subjective opinions without supporting evidence. Lots of journalists avoid the term "terrorist." The Associated Press style guide says, "The terms terrorism and terrorist have become politicized, and often are applied inconsistently. Because they can be used to label such a wide range of actions and events, and because the debate around them is so intense, detailing what happened is more precise and better serves audiences.” After the Israeli invasion of Gaza, with tanks killing 6-year-old children like Hind Rajab, why don't you call the IDF a terrorist organization? The neutral, objective thing to do is to avoid the term altogether.

A.M. Rosenthal, the managing editor of the NYT during the Vietnam war, used to give sermons about how the NYT reported the news objectively, while the left-wing press was biased. In fact the NYT had lots of biases -- for example, they turned down the story on the My Lai Massacre. Reporters in Vietnam complained that they wrote stories about how the war was going badly, but the editors in New York City changed their stories to make the war look better. More recently, they were promoting the Iraq war like a branch of the State Department.
Krakauer is doing the same thing. He's asserting that Glenn Greenwald and the Gray Zone have a political bias, while the NYT does not (or has less of a bias). I disagree. The NYT has the bias of the US State Department.
One thing that bothers me about the NYT lately is their reporting of the Russian invasion of Ukraine as "unprovoked." If you listen to John Mearsheimer or Jeffrey Sachs, they will explain how the invasion was provoked by the US breaking their assurances to Gorbachev that NATO would not move "one inch" east after the unification of Germany.
