Hey, just came across this series. (nice series, I'm really enjoying it) To be precise on one point, yes French Cavalry was a renowned one, but more because it was heavy cavalry. For example, during the Hundred Years war, english cavarly troops were light and raided, while French Cavalry knights were heavy and made for engagement front to front between two cavalries
