I have just bought a 1954 D3 to restore when I retire in three weeks time. Its been in a private garage and hadn't been moved since 1991.
I've never had a motorcycle, never done this before and am looking forward to it immensely. These videos will be a great help to me. Thanks

Hi, I hope they are of some use to you. The d1 and d3 are similar bikes. Good luck with your restoration. If you haven't joined it yet, I would advise you to join the bantam owners club. Their resources are brilliant.

Hi, good to hear you are starting to get your bike back on the road. I wish you good luck. As regards the manuals, if you join the bsa Bantam owners club. They are all on their Web site. I hope that helps.

I bought a 'rolling' D3 Swingarm in the 80's as a seventeen yr old for eighty quid. Dad and I did a basic restoration on it. So I could ride it. Moving on to today. I've still got it, albeit in pieces and hope to finally find the funds to restore it properly in Dads memory. I've tried a couple of times, but like you had difficulty with the 'manuals'..... How much for a copy of your manual?. 🙂 Cant wait for next instalment. Nuff said. 🙂

Really good intro. I'm about to start getting into a D7 project on my channel Retromeccanica. I think I've seen your bike in the Bantam club magazine. I'll be catching up on your videos and look forward to seeing your bike going together. Best wishes, Dean in Oxfordshire.

Thanks very much !! This is exactly what I need. Same story about ownership over 50 years except it got more & more broken down every time I moved. Now I'm looking at retirement & have the space & time why not ? Only trouble is I'm in Australia & parts a not so easy to get . Looking forward to giving it a go though. I have not watched all your videos yet but hope there may be a list of parts suppliers over there? Mine is a 175 I think 1959 D7

HI, thank you for your kind words. I think the time is now right for you to go ahead and restore yours. Have you tried joining the BSA Bantam Owners club - the membership secretary is membership@bsabantamclub.org.uk. they are a must to join. I hope you get on with yours and get it back on the road. I'm due to start riding mine doing "Teds Tales" as I ride it around East Yorkshire where I live. Regards Edd
