    Dear Eddie
Thank you so much for your effort in producing such great detailed videos; they are so neat and clear.
I also liked your insight into solving small problems on the way.In fact the installation of the footrest
and centre stand looks more challenging than I thought.
It is now up to me to get down to finishing off my D3.

HI, I am glad you liked them. They cover how I did my restoration - there are no doubt other ways which might be easier than the way I did it, but as the saying goes "it worked for me" Good luck with your restoration.

Hi Eddie, I enjoy your video explanations immensely. Presently I am restoring a Bantam D1 myself and refer to your videos regularly. I have a different ''footrest-brake-centre'' stand bar. Mine is not threaded throughout, but only on the ends. Hopefully I shouldn't have a problem of assembling. I must admit that for such a small bike it's still challenging to restore.

HI Robert, thank you for your kind words. I think that quite often when BSA were assembling the bikes on the production line, they often used bits and bobs from other bikes / models just to keep the production line going. Thats the wonder of our bikes - they are all just that little bit different but mean so much to us. I hope the videos help you get yours on the road. Regards Edd.

Hi, Ian. Glad to hear you have got a D3 too. I hope these videos will help you. Just waiting to get an engine from the Bantam Owners club. Then I'll start a more power plant (pardon the pun) set ...good luck with your restoration. Please let me know how you get on. Edd.

@@ianbriscoe3882 hi Ian, all Im no expert, I just know what I,be learned through doing my bike up. I would advise you to check out the repair manual I,ve done , which is on the bantam owners club web page. Check the part number against the picture and see if it matches yours. Don't forget, they were not too fussy about swapping parts etc when they were making them. So your part may well have been fitted to your bike when it was actually made, despite it not being the actual part....if you get my drift. Good luck, please let me know how you get on. Ps, don't forget to ride it...I ride mine even though electronic ignition was never invented when it was made...again if you get my drift. Edd

Hi Eddie I noticed the bar which forms the stops for the brake pedal and centre stand was indented at the meeting points. It would be a good idea to build them up flush again with weld as it will make quite a difference to the final position oof the brake pedal and stand .I learnt this the hard way..Cheers Gordon

Sorry to but in but why not just add washers till the spacers are the right length ?

Sorry but I can't help thinking you are overcomplicating fitting the footrests. Surely you just assemble the shaft and tighten the nuts both sides and then push or wriggle the rubbers on last.
There is no need to screw the rubbers at all.

HI, thats right - but the nut comes undone after a while - hence me making the whole bar threaded to prevent this from happening again. Also if you try and turn the rubber it eventually pops out the end....
