MY99 WRX Custom Tune using Factory ECU - PART 1

Here's a quick preview of a car we're currently tuning here at MRT.
The car came to us with an aftermarket piggyback ECU connected, and the owner was looking to get the car running better using the more modern technologies now available to tune the factory ECU.

Good vídeo. Whit the ECU Explorer and Vagcom (blue) cable can access yo "rear" the OEM Unesia Jecs ECU. Whit this can change the ignition advance step x step 1° degrees . Mi ecu is an oem AE780 (Ae800 UK)

The finist STI engines weren't painted red ..the closed short block version 2 type RA ..the best impreza ever made and no red paint on that manifold

That was the coolest version car when I was a kid and still is pretty awesome today.
Brent, look up RSO oil for melanoma. I've seen all kinds of cancer stop, heal and or fall off people who've used it. I'm not sure if it's legal in Australia but in Colorado U.S.A. it is, maby take a 6 week vacation here :)

Hi Brett when turning the car can you set individual modes, example: eco, stock, sport / performance? Or is it just set to one tune to go hard?

Can you please clarify how you do the reprogramming of the factory ecu...? Because in my knowledge... These years versions has a read only ecu. You open the ecu and change some of the chips or something like that?

You can't reprogram a factory ecu. After 2002 I think factory ecu's can be reprogrammed.

Also are you able to change the Turbo to sprool up quicker in low rpm range ? Or not recommended

What did the customer do with the hose that runs from the sfb to the carbon canister when changing to the AVO inlet pipe?

Does the STI red head give any gains what so ever if you put one into a stock Wrx?

What is the blanket on the engine for?

blindabinda123 I think it is the air sock so they can get flowing air to the intercooler. Smart tuners do that instead of placing the high velocity blower right on top while the car is on the dyno.
