Mike , that trailer is really coming together man you’re kind of at the slump where it feels like nothing’s getting done but soon it will start coming together faster than you realize. Things’s gonna be a blast to take out camping.
Thank you. Nice job Shawn hope the leak stops ,that's pretty cool Mike ,reminds me of an old versatile field tractor ,the tractors wheels also moved like yours . Keep on making great entertainment and video's they are great
Hey Dirtbilly Deluxe! Hey Mike with that diff still attached to the axel you could run a bicycle chain from it to a set of cranks that are accessed under a hatch in the bed! Your mountain bike buddies can provide the power when you need 6 wheel drive! Greetings from the north shore mountains of Vancouver British Columbia Canada! Ride ride ride!
Mike the rear steer seems to be working slick! been loving this project. if i was trying to patch those holes in the siding id just pop rivet some thin aluminum from the inside and then hit it with a little flat white paint, wouldn't change the look from the outside and would keep the heat in!
Fine job Shawn i hope it works this time. And Mike that little trailer is AWESOME MAN. It works great FINE JOB MAN. 👌 Shawns truck is coming along nicely to. Thanks for the video guy's can't wait for the next one.
Mike, love the trailer. I feel your frustration on patching the outer shell. Why not use some diamond plate sheets on the front. Sixteenth thick will go well and cover or replace damaged front of the trailer.
Hey Mike, very cool traiiler! It would be nice if you could run a power wire back to charge those batteries. Just something to think about. Rock on brother!
I'm glad the boys are being fed, and I'm glad 4 Lug Thug finally has the major upgrades coming. The trailer is coming together really well, gonna be a real test getting the holes patched up. That metal doesn't weld too well, and I don't know about using something like fiberglass to patch it. Will be very interested to see how Mike goes about that.
Great stuff as usual..I’ve got the same leak going on with the ls2 in my jeep TJ ..great engine but the pan will make you nuts. That trailer is crazy..the fact that it’s doing stuff behind you that’s not normal makes for a wild video.
Great trouble shooting Shawn! I think you got it. Mike that rear steer is awesome. Dont get down about the holes. They can be patched or filled with silicone.
Mike, use 3M 5200. You can get more tin, glue it to the old tin with the 5200. Or just use the 5200 to seal the smaller holes. When the 5200 cures it will feel like you welded the metal on. the 5200 was made for marine applications and its awesome stuff.
You guys should take one of the old lifts and install it outside over gravel or something so you can pressure wash stuff up in the air easily that way you can clean stuff up and see what you're doing. I know that's what me and my friends did we took an old lift and just, made some concrete things in the ground and bolted up made like an outside wash day
Shawn, While you have that pan off you should have replaced the O ring on the pickup tube. Your leak is at the Oil bypass Gasket. I have a 2001 chevy suburban. I know. God Bless
Interesting prototype, might be able to sell it to those adventure campers yuppies, lol. & yea Shawn, far too expensive to buy new, unless ya win the lotto, but if ya got the skills to repair, ya just upped your pay grade nicely!! Thanx !
It be kind of cool when you get it all set up maybe put one of them auto center switches in it so you can like stare with it and then let go to auto straighten back out
Goos luck Shawn..that's a pain..it keeps coming back... Mike..don't know what to Say....But Supper Rad..now you need the Pinion Motor..to help crawl up the Rocks..
Mike, a simple but effective way to cover/seal all the holes in the camper, is to cut patches out of sheet aluminum and caulk and pop rivet them in place. Easy peezy!
Use expanding spray foam on walls & ceiling & it’ll be rigid as a catholic priest at choir boy practice. Then bondo exterior holes & you’re structurally golden
Love these videos. Yeah, them Cheby oil pans can give you pause for thought Shawn, you've to got improve on Mike's convenient wiring method but then it wouldn't be as much fun. mike, I really started to like the rear steer camper when you you installed the tow hitch/tongue. Spray foam in a can for the holes And insulation/rattles, Dirtbilly it up rite. Thanks for sharing.
hey, if it doesnt work out as a camper, its gonna make a great little recovery trailer. The way it can steer will really make it nice to get around them tough spots with a load on too i bet
Hi Shawn, I can feel your pain in having to redo a job that was painful to begin with. Shawn, you handled it well. Nice job. Mike, time to train a sidekick to do the rear steer on your camper. It is sweet.
Need it like Matt has the one on his big off road wrecker. Need to have it self centering but that’s a pretty cool setup you have going there. Keep up the awesome work on it
Mike, you need the wheels to go back straight on their own after a turn! Otherwise, it looks like it should work for you! Shawn, hope you get the oil leak fixed this time!
Sheet metal, a good adhesive and paint and the hole problem will be solved. Those modern oil pans can be a real pain. I think you've beaten it though. Rear steer is looking pretty sweet.
Shawn: I seriously dislike those front diffs. Good job on you doing that!! Mike: Love it! Might I suggest rivets 8"-12" apart on the uprights? Looks great rollin around behind the Deathstar! Gonna hafta label those buttons!!
Always enjoy show...the trailer crab walking is cool as all get up. The 4 lug thug is pretty dependable..saw videos of it doing hard trails..did awesome as far as i can tell..conquered most if not all..should be happy with its result..and thats awesome you lend it out for abuse ..so to say..trails aint easy, even if they say so..always a beating somewhere..but yall obviously know what your doing..looking forward to next one..sup justin..pickups doing good as well..love it that yall go trailing as often as can
Mike , that trailer is really coming together man you’re kind of at the slump where it feels like nothing’s getting done but soon it will start coming together faster than you realize. Things’s gonna be a blast to take out camping.
Mike's rear steer trailer is decades ahead of the camp trailer industry.
For sure, Mike is making his stronger and more capable every day. The camp trailer industry is doing the opposite.
Mike, you need to mount a generator to the trailer diff and get free electricity to charge the trailer batteries! 😊
I LIKE that trailer steer!!
The rear-steer camper is impressive. It will greatly increase your options on how to bash into things with it!
Mike, the camp trailer is awesome. Just keep pushing, buddy it will all be worth it in the end!
Thank you. Nice job Shawn hope the leak stops ,that's pretty cool Mike ,reminds me of an old versatile field tractor ,the tractors wheels also moved like yours . Keep on making great entertainment and video's they are great

Rory will be adding steer axles to the recovery trailer next! Awesome
Mike's just developing the proof of concept for it. They all got to step up some of the game since almost everyone is trying to copy.
Mike the rear steer seems to be working slick! been loving this project. if i was trying to patch those holes in the siding id just pop rivet some thin aluminum from the inside and then hit it with a little flat white paint, wouldn't change the look from the outside and would keep the heat in!

Mike built the first rear steer trailer😂 its awesome i love it
That's awesome AF Mike......a steer axle under the camper is brilliant ❤️🇺🇸
I ❤ DirBillyEngineering! Cheers, guys.
Patched my trailer with cut up acetone cans and caulk and a little paint. Back in the day real estate signs were very handy.
Use the real estate signs you might get some offers.
I admire your patience Shawn and Mike. Those are a pain in the a#s kind of a jobs.
Mike, just the idea to build a steerable rock crawling trailer is cool beans. I can’t wait to see it done. You’re going to be very popular.
Mike cover the holes with License plates remember its an offroad camper not a holiday Inn
Mike, love the trailer. I feel your frustration on patching the outer shell. Why not use some diamond plate sheets on the front. Sixteenth thick will go well and cover or replace damaged front of the trailer.
That trailer is awesome!
Hey Mike, very cool traiiler! It would be nice if you could run a power wire back to charge those batteries. Just something to think about. Rock on brother!
Awesome proof of concept Mike 💡. It's going to be a very capable camper. I think Sean is on the right track with the oil leak fix.
It was great to meet you both at the car show in Moab, thanks for opening up the shed so I could pick up a shirt Sean.
Mike, I feel you with the porta band. I have a love-hate relationship with mine if they bind it just a little bit that blade loves to come off.
The trailer is coming along great Mike!! Keep at it and you’ll get it done!! It’s going to be awesome when you hit the trails with it!!
The rear steer is some next level cool!
We here with you Sean you’re not alone 😊
Great stuff as usual..I’ve got the same leak going on with the ls2 in my jeep TJ ..great engine but the pan will make you nuts. That trailer is crazy..the fact that it’s doing stuff behind you that’s not normal makes for a wild video.
Great trouble shooting Shawn! I think you got it. Mike that rear steer is awesome. Dont get down about the holes. They can be patched or filled with silicone.
Thanks, guys. I look forward to every episode.
Love that rear steer camper. Welcome to the future people.
Trailer progress is being made, !!!!
Mike, use 3M 5200. You can get more tin, glue it to the old tin with the 5200. Or just use the 5200 to seal the smaller holes. When the 5200 cures it will feel like you welded the metal on. the 5200 was made for marine applications and its awesome stuff.
Nice work Mike. It's coming along great 👍
When body one day falls off it might make a good recovery trailer with rear steer and be the first rear steer recovery
trailer I have seen
Good luck with the Yukon Shawn, you'll get it figured out! Off Road Camper trailer is looking killer Mike!
the camper is wicked cool
Shawn I really like the truck your working on and Mike your camper is very cool
You guys should take one of the old lifts and install it outside over gravel or something so you can pressure wash stuff up in the air easily that way you can clean stuff up and see what you're doing. Mike, Shawn, you guy's are making progress. Getting things done!! Taikuu for the updates..
OHHH ! CANADAAA!............. AWESOME TRAILER!
Oh Canada, our home and native land,
Where we ride moose to into battle,
And have maple syrup on command!
It be kind of cool when you get it all set up maybe put one of them auto center switches in it so you can like stare with it and then let go to auto straighten back out
I wonder if you could run an alternator off the yoke of the trailers axle to charge the steering batteries while you're towing it ?
@ 16:00 The biggest SMILE you've ever seen 👍😎✊
It is a total kick seeing how the trailer responds to steering this way or that, going forward or back.
Friday night happy hour video. YEEEAH! 🍻
Both of you guys are putting in some work ! Thanks for sharing !
I can see the camper steering is gonna be fun. “Look out fence!”
Cool trailer for sure!
Mike good job trailer is coming along it's going to be fun getting it out on a camping trip love it
I had good luck with etrnabond tape on my old motorhome, it's expensive but it sticks to everything and lasts a long time.
The trailer works great.
You ain't a kidding $100K for an SUV is just insane. I will keep repairing my old vehicles until I can't find parts anymore.
Deluxe! 🔧🔧💪😎
one of a kind mike nice work
Goos luck Shawn..that's a pain..it keeps coming back...
Mike..don't know what to Say....But Supper Rad..now you need the Pinion Motor..to help crawl up the Rocks..
It's really getting there Mike.

Mike, a simple but effective way to cover/seal all the holes in the camper, is to cut patches out of sheet aluminum and caulk and pop rivet them in place. Easy peezy!
That’s so cool Mike!
Use expanding spray foam on walls & ceiling & it’ll be rigid as a catholic priest at choir boy practice. Then bondo exterior holes & you’re structurally golden
😂 I second that, the foam that is.
I am looking forward to see the first trip on the trail with the off road camper. I think it will be a interesting first trip to see how it goes
Love these videos. Yeah, them Cheby oil pans can give you pause for thought Shawn, you've to got improve on Mike's convenient wiring method but then it wouldn't be as much fun. mike, I really started to like the rear steer camper when you you installed the tow hitch/tongue. Another Great Video 👍 Great content, keep up the great work!
Was there a dryer full of bowling balls in the background while you were talking about the gasket? Haha
Hi Shawn, I can feel your pain in having to redo a job that was painful to begin with. Shawn, you handled it well. Nice job. Mike, time to train a sidekick to do the rear steer on your camper. It is sweet.
Love your videos, Mike and Shawn - keep up the good work, and keep us informed about 4WD happenings in and around SE Utah!
Need it like Matt has the one on his big off road wrecker. Need to have it self centering but that’s a pretty cool setup you have going there. Keep up the awesome work on it
Concur, get the self-centering. The how to is on Matt's channel. Or you could ask Matt or TomTom.
Rear steer camper awesome, You guys do great work, Jon UK
Cool T-shirt Mike!!
great as always great content and the best part you get here done
Thats not an oil pan leak, thats a rear main seal leak....that cover you pointed out holds the rear main seal, its a trans out fix ...
That camper is awesome! Good job! Shawn, have you checked or changed the valve cover gaskets??
Mike, you better get a patent on that steering camper, the idea might take off.
Sure enjoy the videos, I’ll come say hi next time I see you in Moab.
Mike, you need the wheels to go back straight on their own after a turn! Otherwise, it looks like it should work for you! Shawn, hope you get the oil leak fixed this time!
That's a great idea with the steering on the camper
Dang i miss the desert! Good work guys! 👍😁
The oil sending thingy below intake on back of block on ls motors leaks 1 pain ass get to
Sheet metal, a good adhesive and paint and the hole problem will be solved. Those modern oil pans can be a real pain. I think you've beaten it though. Rear steer is looking pretty sweet.

saw droppings in the converter cool
Omg. That high flow engine oil that goes to a cooler or not if its been eliminated. But took me alot of work to stop that oil leak. Really sucked
Always enjoy show...the trailer crab walking is cool as all get up. The 4 lug thug is pretty dependable..saw videos of it doing hard trails..did awesome as far as i can tell..conquered most if not all..should be happy with its result..and thats awesome you lend it out for abuse ..so to say..trails aint easy, even if they say so..always a beating somewhere..but yall obviously know what your doing..looking forward to next one..sup justin..pickups doing good as well..love it that yall go trailing as often as can
Shawn. Just remember the more you hurry the slower you go. Mike. Just watch a couple of the first videos, its kinda amazing how far it’s come…
Know you have to figure out how to self center its self so you dont have to worry about it!
Pretty dang cool!
Shawn its the rear main seal my 2013 gmc sierra 4x4 sle has that same oil mark. Sorry. Mine still leaks.
Great progress and thank you for sharing
Maybe flex seal and bedliner for your camper good luck buddy
Shawn boy it must be super windy. I can hear them doors rattling you think there's a tornado going on outside.
