Nah it'll be someone from the Midwest, the South or Arizona. They act like all Americans votes matter equally, but the reality is that the country is so polarized that only 7 states will decide the election, and they are in the Midwest, some Southern states and the South West. Everyone else is locked in one way or the other, some democracy XD

Honestly race feels like it's not gonna be a factor in this election and upcoming elections. While yes, racism is still a big issue in the US, we've started to see people from a slew of different ethnic backgrounds run for president in recent times on both the Democratic and Republican tickets; it's become second nature to me

Some mistakes and bad analysis here. Kelly as VP would not "certainly put Arizona in the Democratic column", it would increase their chances but it definitely wouldn't guarantee anything. Nobody thinks Arizona is "already a shoe-in for Democrats", almost all recent polls have Trump leading there. Virginia is not "projected to go blue by large margins", recent polls have it as very close. Do better research next time, this was pretty sloppy.

I think Kamala’s approval ratings will increase in the next few weeks. I’m a young voter, and I can already see the shift in opinion from just a few days ago. Peers of mine that were either going to vote 3rd party or not vote at all (because of Biden) seem to be set on voting for Harris now - I could only imagine this is happening in other groups. Not only is she younger than other politicians, which is honestly the main concern for people in the 18-30 age range I would say, but she is more relatable and connected to everyday Americans. I’m not speaking for deep red states - even young people in those states will be voting for Trump. It’s the young people in major cities within swing states that will help carry those states. It’s the things that older audiences wouldn’t understand that are helping Harris gain popularity - people are making hilarious edits of her being funny, saying somewhat nonsensical quotes, hanging out with everyday people, and just overall showing her liveliness and energy. This is important for young voters, as we get most of our news from social media (usually in the form of humor). We are starting to see her as a silly, young politician despite her flaws

If harris wins and the dems are ranting about domestic issues, ukraine will be conquered, the amphibious invasion of Taiwan will begin, NK will start making ready to turn the DMZ hot, and Iran and their thugs will be slinging missile and drones as far as timbuktu... the darkness of the world will begin to take over the light, the west will stagger. But as long as we have our women in office who care about our right to kill our unborn children than our global enemies, and as long as the evil orange felon who sure "hasn't proved himself" before at being able to handle the global stage. Asbolutely laughable how many genz libs my age have so much hope domestically for our future under harris... with harris our allies will be pressed by our enemies while we twiddle our thumbs, haven't even brought up harris's abhorent views on israel.... with harris our western world gets ever so weaker.... with harris in power the ball is in our enemies courts.... but no no... avoiding giving our enemies the geopolitcal advantage would be to easy... so lets all vote for good old laughing kamala.

The problem for Harris, is she needs to secure nomination, select a running mate, produce a platform to run on, show policies to sell to the American voter base, debate, campaign.

    • @krombopulos_michael

Platform and policies are practically non-issues. Practically nobody cares, Trump didn't even bother making one in 2020 and hardly anyone was even aware of that, much less upset by it. In any case she'll mostly just inherit the one from the Biden-Harris campaign, maybe with some edits for her own opinions.
Debates usually would not have even begun yet for a normal US election, the Biden Trump one was exceptionally early. If she wasn't a VP it would be more difficult to spin everything up but none of these will be serious logistical concerns.

Ignoring how 5 people from Wyoming are worth the same as 1 Californian, which just sounds horrifically undemocratic, the fact that the decision is not based on popular vote just means people get strait up ignored, because they live in a solidly blue or red state. No need for the democrats to try to convince Texans right? Because even if they did a massive campaign there, looking at all their needs, completely ignoring the big bad New Yorkers, if the Republicans only get 1 vote more, all that would be completely useless in the eyes of the Electoral College, and the same goes the other way around in blue states.

"Harris is not a great public speaker or debater?" Have you guys even _seen_ her public speaking appearances in the last year or so? She's been absolutely killing it, and she's demonstrated a remarkable improvement from 2020. Also, she's the perfect type of debater to tear Trump limb from limb.
She's already secured all the delegates she needs for the nomination, and the only person who is even trying to throw their hat into the ring (maybe?) is Marianne Williamson, who well... She's not a serious contender whatsoever. Early polls from right after Biden's dropping out are suggesting that Harris is already on track to pull ahead of Trump, which is a good omen on top of how much Harris becoming the nominee has re-energized and unified the Democrats in a way perhaps not seen since Obama. The campaign has gone from a seeming funeral march to becoming utterly electrified.
And now Trump's camp are flailing because they did not plan for this contingency _whatsoever_ because, in true right-wing fashion, they were incapable of comprehending the idea that 1) Biden might actually put his country and party ahead of himself and 2) the Dems were willing to go to the lengths they did to convince their own president to step down, meaning Trump's entire campaign, which was purely geared entirely around defeating Biden, has to be rebuilt entirely from scratch, resulting in a ton of wasted time and money. Trump's polling also suggests that he's hit a ceiling that he's incapable of breaching, and RFK is likely to draw more votes away from him than from Harris, on top of that. This move also turns J.D. Vance into utter dead weight and a liability as Trump's choice for VP, as he was a vanity pick with the assumption that Trump was set for a landslide victory.
Harris doesn't have it in the bag at this point, of course, far from it, but her ascension had completely reset the campaign, undone any momentum on the GOP side,

Also, it's going to be a problem going forward because WWII is starting to become more of a distant memory as opposed to lived history as everyone who lived it dies off. Israel will not have that to work off of and anybody who was born after 2001 is not going to remember the Israel that was coalitioned by the Arabs or founded on the greatest purge in human history, but one that practices security through Apartheid and land grabs and one that openly disparages their neighbors and thumbs their nose at their allies. It might be hindsight having you thinking Watergate wasn't worse thanbiden being off camera.
There's also the business plot. That happened before TV even existed.

Hes too old to address the country and can barely do public speaking that's why he hasn't been out

Biden's got covid and is self isolating. He has said he would address the nation later this week.
