What Kathir says is right... why would anyone work in a place where he feels he won't get respect? Just because he is a father doesn't mean he can disrespect his son. His son, in this case, is not doing anything wrong. He is not lying, stealing or doing any unlawful things. He has self-respect. The father is egoistic because the public asks why he is not helping his son; he wants him in the shop, not out of love or wanting to help. He wants to taunt his son even 24/7. If the public knew he slaps his son in front of his sisters-in-law and wife... they would spit on the father's face. The father not only bullies and abuses his son, but he also puts his son down in front of others. Kadhir, if you feel you can go out and live, then please do. Your wife does seem to have a good head on her shoulders. It won't be easy initially, but it will get easier once you establish yourself and work hard for the initial few years. You can do this because you will not be stressed and will rebuild your self-esteem every time the father puts you down (it looks like every day). I hate Myil and Pandian characters. This show encourages and justifies the actions of parents like Pandian to torture their children just because they support them. They want slaves for children not children with self-respect. When the children turn psycho, the parents want to wash their hands and claim as victims. This is not unconditional love. This is a show of love where you do as I say, then I will love. Narcissistic parents. Toxic parents like this are the ones who create criminals 90% of the time unless the children have some good influence elsewhere. Pandian tortures that poor boy every day. Is this story was written n taken in 1930s bcz no sons n daughter in laws are not talking boldly. There should be respect for the elders but they should not stand like slaves in front of their in laws. This type of families are not there now a days. Pandian also should treat his sons as friendly. Bcz all his sons are in good character. Moreover he is not following the labour law i suppose bcz he is not allowing anyone to take leave in his shop.
