Thanks a lot for watching and safe journeys!
More of Latin America please! It's nice for a change from the usual countries in Europe and Asia, there are so many countries and places in Central and South America that is unexplored by tourists and even most travel vloggers, like El Salvador, Nicaragua, Guyana, French Guiana, Suriname, Paraguay etc.
You are absolutely correct ❤
Agree 100%
It’s super risky is why
@nikosniko7092 because crime so crazy
@@CapriWinarat I think it depends on which areas and countries. I heard El Salvador is now safer than ever because of the reforms and tough on crime policies. Southern Mexico safe, northern not so much. Etc.
Just think, 2 years ago there is no way you could have safely walked around these streets. I'm sooo happy for that country, people there can live a normal life and tourists can go safely enjoy it as well.
How do you know? Were you there two years ago? Your only knowledge is hearsay I think. I think your a couch potato. You don't go anywhere. Just only watching people aimlessly wandering around.
Oooohh wooptie doo. I've been to 94 countries.
How come it’s not dangerous now

It is clearly a country which is trying to improve in many ways. Have a great time there Gabe! Looking forward to more scenes from this nice little nation. 🎉
Hello and Good Evening From London Smashing that like 👍
Dr Gabriel I m a Salvadoran living in the I was in San Salvador visiting family last year and just happened to stay at the same hotel you were last week, I like to watch videos from travelers but was really impressed of yours maybe because these videos were taped by a gringo from a different perspective than another Salvadoran , thank you and hope you enjoyed my country.
every time 2 dudes on a motorcycle pass you I get super nervous.
its ok, El Salvador is safe now and even during the worse years the tourits were never affected by crime
Great video again ! 😊❤🇧🇦
I’m sooo glad you decided to go Central Americas!! Great video! More of central and south Americas please 🙏 ❤
Very nice video Gabriel, good narrative and good pace, I feel like I am there. The people serving the food assume everybody knows how to eat pupusas, but they should explain a little bit, like you don't need fork. The cabbage and the sauce goes on top of the pupusas, but what you did is also correct, but I never saw it before (dunking the pupusa inside the sauce).jjjj Thank you for visiting El Salvador, and have a nice stay.
I like the country a lot the people are amazing and I felt safe there too
El Savador was an excellent choice for you to explore! Looking forward to seeing more.
One of the things I really love about this channel is when you go to a new country and give your “first impressions.” This was awesome. Super excited to see and learn about a new country. ❤️👏😊
Thank you for visiting my country
Things have changed for the better now.
Hope you have a great time
That blanket has been around the world!
Cool, a country I've always wanted to explore more of. I had a quick stopover in San Salvador en route to Guatemala once, hope to go back. Looking forward to watching this series. Cheers
Central America is probably the only region of the world I haven’t been to yet,
Does it feel safe there?
Those pupusa looks delicious
Safest country in the western hemisphere, be careful when crossing the roads though, the drivers can be quite careless at times
Thanks for exploring the Latin American city of San Salvador. ❤from Sylhet Bangladesh 🇧🇩.
Congratulations on getting 600,000 subscribers🎊🎉 I hope you have a great and enjoyable time in El Salvador👍
Was clean and your first meal with that Golden Beer was lookin good . Looking forward to your next post . Thanks Gabriel .
Food is really cheap in El Salvador compared to America. I’m Salvadoran and we love rock music, we have bars and restaurants full dedicated to rock and metal.
Excited to see the next series of videos Gabriel is the man ❤
Superfriendly country. My favorite local beer was Pilsener in El Salvador. 🙂

What is missing above is a beach place. I had planned to go to either El Paredon in Guatemala or El Tunco in El Salvador. Turned out that I had to skip both. Some other time.
Sweet. 👍
Cool choice Gabe! Be sure to big up Bitcoin while you're there. It's the first reason El Salvador came on my radar 😁
"Revuelta" usually means a mixture of things like chicken, beef, pork, and cheese. Though I suppose places can serve it how they want. Good to see you enjoying your time there so far!
And egg, right?
@@MARC-FENIX Not sure if this is a regular thing. I've noticed places that serve them with eggs usually have higher prices. Best to ask the server I guess.
@@MARC-FENIX huevos revuelta is like scrambled eggs..
Eggs are not a pupusa ingredient. But I see how you get eggs in your mind, since huevos revueltos is Spanish for scrambled eggs. But for pupusa revuelta they just blend beans, cheese, pork, tomatos, oions, garlics, bell pepers into a pupusa. they are quite good.
So good to see you back in Central America, if only for a few weeks. Looking forward to see El Salvador open up as you make your way.
Mar y Tierra means, Sea and land. Basically, it's the equvalent of Surf and Turf in North America.
Thanks, that's what I guessed.
@GabrielTravelerVideos I visited El Salvador, 2x last year. It's one of my favourite countries. People are so friendly and kind. Don't miss visiting these places,
La Libertad, El Tungco, Santa Ana, Tazumal, Lago de Coatepeque, Suchitoto, Panchimalco, and of course the historic district and Zona Rosa in San Salvador. Have fun!
Welcome to El Salvador 🇸🇻
Muchas gracias. 👍🍺
That's what they said to Christopher Columbus! The saviour
@@GabrielTravelerVideoswow, getting the hang of Spanish already
Going to El Zonte and check out the Bitcoin market and scene?
Definitely.
It’s always so exciting to see a new country through your lens🙌🏽
Hi Gabe, I'm so excited that you're in a new country! I know nothing at all about El Salvador, and I can't wait to hear about all your adventures, and learning about the country and culture of El Salvador. 😎
Your meal looked so delicious! I first tried papusas many years ago. I had a roommate who was from Venezuela, and she used to make homemade papusas for us. Yum! 😋I think papusas are common to many South American countries, but each country has their own way of making them.
Hmmm, now I'm hungry for papusas!
Holiday Inn Antiguo Cuscatlan is close to Wal Mart, embassy, Dollar City and some nice malls. And very safe.
Walmart= yanks no thanks, they will gringofy it in no time just like Mexico, Argentina better
So entirely cool, seeing those short, snub nose buses, still rolling around. Wish I could find one around here. I want to visit now. Thanks amigo!
You should pick a special place for your 100th country!
Beautiful country 🍺🍺
My first time eating Papusas was in Mtn View California back in the 90's after my El Salvadorian friend and I finished smoking some wacky tabacky we got the munchies and we went to a spot that made them fresh. I was so hungry I just piled up the cabbage salad on top folded it like a crunchy taco and went to work! lol It tasted so good! Enjoy yourself! I was considering visiting there now that it is safe but I already purchased a ticket to Japan. I'm looking forward to the current exchange rate which is highly in my favor :)
Basically you will see that throughout Latin America.
Fruit on the ground, " Zapote"
The price for a meal and a drink is amazing.
I was there in December, very interesting to see it from your camera. I liked it there , especially the coast of course. Felt very safe, I roamed around freely.
Hasta luego, senor Gabriel. Good food, Led Zeppelin, and tropical weather --- life is good! Looks like you're going to get subscriber 600 K in Latin America -- celebrate with a cerveza ;;; cheers!
Thanks and definitely. 🍺

Hi Gabriel do you have a video on things like how to withdraw cash from foreign atms in local currency, what cards you use, how you carry cash when overseas e.g. obviously not in a wallet , what vaccinations if any you use for places like when you enter India or Bangladesh etc, what precautions you take about water?
th-cam.com/video/A4PnkIGPDt0/w-d-xo.html
Every time they elect a new President or leader in any South or Latin American country the people say this is now the New Age of No corruption and it never really materializes. The majority of the poor there have no say or power to change the political system because corruption has become so entrenched. The drug trafficking and trade for example has become so lucrative for some of these governments that they have no incentive to put an end to it.
I don't know much about the politics here, but the difference in this case seems to be that the president has been in office for five years now and has made real progress by reducing the crime rate substantially, as well as other measurable changes. But yeah, rooting out corruption entirely in any government is pretty much impossible.
@@GabrielTravelerVideos The President there has wide support, but the suspension of due process and human rights which is present there now can also lead to authoritarian governments. These governments let these criminal gangs and homicides get out of control for many years and then they at some point like now in El Salvador they come in and arrest a lot of people and throw them in prison and then figure out at some point later if they're gang members or involved in criminal activity.
Yes I’d like to know if you see any one using bitcoin?
The razor wire on top of the high fences was not a good residential look. Yikes! Restaurants seemed great though and the trees were cool.
Great trip again
Negra Modelo my favorite too! Pupusas from El Salvador 👌🏼 FYI usually the cabbage goes on top of the pupusa then you pour the tomato sauce over it and now you use the silverware.
is the first time south of mexico? newbie eating the pupusas!
I've been to Belize, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Panama, Colombia, Peru and Ecuador. Yes, first time eating pupusas that I can think of.
Loving the content from Central America!
Hey Gabriel, I’ve never thanked you, but I moved to Thailand in 2015, moved around SE Asia and others parts of the world then had a baby back in Kansas City, and I yearn for this life, but I adore my own. I live through you, I know it’s hard work, but keep it up man!
Why did you leave Thailand?
$1.35 for a beer is nicer than $18.50 at SFO 😄
Cheers to that. 🍺
This was super helpful, Gabriel, love your videos. I'm heading to San Salvador in a few weeks, the "beer index" is always valuable to me. I will toast you with a "Golden" when I get there :-)
Great video Gabe, I've been curious about Central America for a while.
Costa Rica is a great starter.
@@BarnaliD where do you recommend in Costa Rica?
Golden is not my favorite. I prefer Pilsner on a hot day. Suprema and Regia are good too.
I remember the kennedy half dollar 😊
The gal who cuts my hair is from El Salvador. If I am recalling correctly, she grew up in mountainous country, so there must be some mountains if you head inland.
San Salvador is inland. You can see a pretty big mountain at 0:38 in the video. Looks like a volcano but I'm not sure about that, maybe someone else can confirm. I do plan to get higher up into the mountains.
Hope you enjoy el salvador small country but full of good surprises
HOLA GRABRIEL.. GREETINGS #FROMSEATTLE,
I’m jealous you went to my country #ElSalvador 🇸🇻.

Excited for this series!!! Im in Mexico in April. so looking forward to this!
looking fwd to this video. i have el salvador, hondoras and panama left for central America. i know the pupusas are delisous though!
Gab im going to give you a real comment. Been watching you for a while and never would think you would take the risk and go to LATIN COUNTRIES. I had a bet going with some and i lost the bet.😊..but i give you credit for taking the chance and add the missed countries in your portfolio. Safe journeys and thanks for showing us the diversity in your travels.❤👍😎
He's not in South America
You haven't lost yet. El Salvador is in Central America, not South America. But I've already been to South America nine years ago: th-cam.com/video/-RDv7O4aGHM/w-d-xo.html
How much was the bet for?
@@GabrielTravelerVideos lol...a beer and a discussion about traveling to safe places verses sketchy dangerous places. The history of the places relevant to time and educating people is always important as why I/appreciate you gab👍😎. Love history and travel no matter the risk.

The new president is locking up everyone. "Amnesty International has accused El Salvador’s government of committing “massive human rights violations” during an extraordinary security crackdown that has seen more than 36,000 people arrested in just over two months." -The Guardian
10:45 : you could’ve got 20 beers in El Salvador for the price of that beer you got in your previous video at the airport in San Francisco. Crazy.
Exactly. Seriously ridiculous.

2:17 barber wire. The town is well taken care of. I see good asphalt pavement, drainage system.
12:36 “That sounds good, whatever it is 😅” Another great one liner from Gabriel.

18:37 I had to look up the word “gritty” in the urban dictionary. It says harsh, coarse, rough.
Hello Gabriel next time you go to the capital San Salvador try to go to the other side of the city were the modern part and better upscale neigborhoods, hotels and restaurants are, like Escalon, San Benito, Santa Elena, La gran VIA, there is many places, also you miss el Boqueron, Which is the San Salvador Volcano , there is a great view from the capital at 7000 feet level, and the best Pupusas Planes de Renderos and Puerta Del Diablo. be safe BRO!
I was in El Salvador 20 years ago but on the other side closer to San Miguel. The landscape is beautiful and the people were so inviting and friendly. Despite the violent history most of the people I met were very down to earth and would give you the shirt off their back. There are great places to hike and enjoy the rivers and mountains. El Salvador has made great progress and their future is looking up. As you get out of the residential area and explore you will really enjoy the sights. Every place outside of the busy city people always greeted everyone and each other with a nice Buen dia. Have a great time.
Once again that irritating "tip" - said 10% on the menu. Why do they bother having a price when in reality it is not true? Why don't they put the price including everything and pay their wages better? Obviously learned behaviour from the US seeing they use USD. Clever idea to mask their true miserable economy using the USD that's what the new Argentinian guy wants to do.
👍👍👍
Didn't you go from San Francisco to San Salvador? How can you be jet lagged? There's only a two-hour difference.
In this case it isn't a matter of the time difference but taking an overnight flight. Flight left at 1:30 in the morning, lands at 9am, I'm not able to sleep much on the plane so I land tired and then have to take a nap in the afternoon, then can't get to to sleep at a normal time that night. So my sleep gets all out of whack as a result.
Ok. Gotcha. Not technically jet lag. Not that it matters much. Enjoy El Salvador!
@@peregrino9154 Exactly. Whatever it's called, it can mess things up for a few days.
Dear friend, I am glad you had a great time visiting El Salvador. It was interesting seeing my native country thru the eyes of a "gringo" traveling down there...
I am so glad to see that you are now able to safely do all these things :)
I truly enjoy your channel-looking forward to seeing more of your videos. 😂😅
I’m so excited to watch this series, that’s my motherland and I almost want to be like “go see my uncles” one is running for some kind of office position. It’s funny to see you figure things out naturally. I KNEW you were going to use a fork, that’s a crime my friend lol do you though
at 9:00 you were so close to a Plaza San Luis full of different things, also to "El Barrilon" with delicious pork.
You should hit their coast. See if they are using ships to smuggle humans over to Mexico from Latin America to get into USA. Thats really cheap for beer and food.
Is it safe to travel, to el Salvador, Nicaragua, Honduras, Costa Rica. ??? Anyone that have traveled to aby of those countries and want ro share the safetiness???
Omg check that coin... that is so cool! Mannn you make me hungry, pupusas are delicious!

Looks nice Gabriel 😊❤😎☀️

I love puppsas! Dump the curtido (pickled slaw) on them, then pour the sauce on top. The sauce is not spicy. Use as much as you like.
Gabriel! That is not how you usually eat Pupusas... hey.. but that works! El Salvador is a great country with great people. You do have to go to the coast. It is amazing!
Tierra = land. So “tierra y mar” would be similar to what we call a surf and turf. Seafood and non-seafood meats.
You know that if you put the camera function on with google translate, it will show you the menu in English instantly. Maybe you're not aware of that function.
Had pupusas from a Salvadorian restaurant in Guatemala, were so delicious.
Looks like a very uncomfortable place to be a pedestrian.
Wow, kinda expensive eh?
Even though you did it, jaywalking is not recommended.
Get your bitcoins out. These people use that currency and they should be balling with the price right now.
Wish they sold those Mitsubishi trucks in the US.
Bitcoin country
You're supposed to put the cabbage and sauce on top of the pupusas and eat it together
Don’t forget Suchitoto if you have time. Well worth a visit.
Gabe you don’t get jet lag flying north to south, jet lag comes from crossing east west time zones, you’re just tired.😄
