What Pronunciation Teachers Can Do That ChatGPT Cannot

From writing lesson plans to creating activities tailored to our students’ levels and the topics of our choosing in just a matter of seconds, ChatGPT can save us time and serve as a valuable assistant-but is it coming for pronunciation teachers’ jobs? While it may be too soon to say for certain, one thing is clear. There are things that trained human teachers can do that ChatGPT cannot. In this presentation, we will examine the ways in which we can use ChatGPT in pronunciation teaching and define our particular, as of yet, irreplaceable roles as teachers.
