Picked one of these up for £50 to sit alongside the Technics 1210s and I could not be happier. To be able to download and play tunes that are not available on vinyl, or I would need to remortgage to afford, is perfect. Used this on my TikTok live for the first time last night and it’s great.
Might be a dumb question(s), but you can hook it up to a computer right? and if so, could i load my songs on the computer directly into the NDx400 like you would be able to with the Numark MIxtrack?
@BowJow25x hi , no it will not work with ipod or iphone , just usb sticks and the like..any mixer would do the trick maybe a numark x6 would be a good choice
1. Can I use scratch to set a CUE point like pioneer. 2. Can I just a loop using the jogwheel like on pioneer cdj. 3. Is the bpm meter accurate ( and does it not jump all over the place ?
I have 2 of these and the MK1 mixer, was just wondering if it could work with VDJ without the Maya soundcard ? does the timecodes cost ? or what other programme do they work with without any hassle ? Much appreciated thanks.
Absolute worse product I have ever used, I had these.. Went to mixdeck and now ns7.. All three have been junk!!!! Customer service as they call it is the worse,I will never own a Numark priduct again!!!!!! The play buttons break, CDs stop playing and wont play all of them.. Now I have serato with my denon 3700s and my beautiful Rane mixer.
i just got a pair of these puppies i luv all the features, thing is that my cd-r's that i use skip around a bit, not enough for audience to notice but enough to bug any DJ. the manual says something about certain speeds and blah blah for the cd-r's, what is the recommended burn speed, type of cd-r's, etc. so i can get rid of this problem?
@maccagrabme well these ndx400 players seems to be worth buying. but check forums and ask diffirent persons. i dunno what else to recomment, cuz im kinda new to dj stuff, but what i´ve learned is dont buy pioneer cdj players. they just arent worth the money. no problem :)
well you would first need to buy timecode cds wich you can get on ebay for around $15. then you need a usb soundcard such as the maya44 $199. look online on how to hook it up. I dont know why you would need to use virtual dj when you can just use a flash.
Almost certainly not directly, you would probably need tractor scratch or any other timecode cds. Anyway, all you need to do is put the music on you're computer onto a usb stick and you can play it normally...
@Michaeltjuhh no there isnt its only got power and the 2 phonos and a controll port unless the controll port is used for laptop but usualy u meant to have a usb on the back such as the ndx 800
It reminds me of the stanton c3.14 if they didn't completely fuck that table up, with some new things to. My only issue is the platter looks kinda small, but its hard to tell.
if you wanna use traktor get an s4 if you wanna use ableton get the apc40, and the same goes for virtual dj get cntrl2, why map a software to a simple cd player
what is the remote port for on the back ?? thx also i want some of these or something with a simlar price but that can be used with laptop if posible thx
@bugi2011 Yes you can but you cant use it as a midi, you can get time coded cd's though just like the time coded vinyls, Im probly going to end up getting them when I buy these in 2 weeks

Serious issue detected with the NDX400's!!! If a song is playing, at 128 BPM and then there is a break down within the song, the BPM will change, and it does this at any given time. This makes mixing with another track out of sync, I know it is doing it to detect the BPM for the whole song, But this makes the NDX400's impossible to mix with! Anyway I can stop the BPM from changing all the time? I am using to memory sticks, would using CD's help?
May seem a sily question but can this just work in the same way as a midi controller and use the tracks off my laptop using software such as virtual dj or Traktor? (ie have 2 of these and a mixer but use the tracks stored on my laptop) Cheers
This is probably a silly question, i have used CDJ's in the past and have noticed that when you change pitch you can speed up the track from the side of the platter while still being able to maintain scratch mode when you touch the top of the platter. in your video I noticed that you pressed a button to put it on scratch or vinyl mode, does that mean you then loose the ability to pitch bend from the side of the platter? or can you have both functioning at the same time?

nope i used this set the other day at my friends house, i used cds and the same problem happened it was really frustrating, i knew it wasnt normal cause ive used other cdjs and my own cdj 400's never experience this problem

No, cdj's never do. You have to plug your mic into your mixer.
