Congratulations on the plane and your flying experience. This small battery size is more suitable for those who want to make glider flights with a pusher engine. The Ranger can withstand a lot if you put a bigger battery in it. You can calculate with up to a 4000mAh battery. Here it is possible to use a battery built with 18600 or 21700 cells. This does not increase the weight significantly, but the flight time increases enormously. For example, I built a 3s2p 21700 pack. The flat space behind the motor is more useful for the camera transmitter electronics. I wish you many flights and good landings!
Hello, nice little video, this Ranger flies very well, indeed. I bought the Ranger 1600 last week, I'm waiting for the electronics and I will finally be able to fly. I have a quick question, can the Ranger 2000 wings be installed on the Ranger 1600 fuselage? I currently fly with a glider from LIDL (stores in Europe). Wingspan of 86 cm, I modified it to be able to fly with it: th-cam.com/video/6cxetUL8QAk/w-d-xo.htmlsi=mAeWvliV6aSnOzCg Good flight ;-)
Hi, I've heard the 1600 flies well also. Sorry, I don't know if the wings are interchangeable with the 2000. I just did a quick search and looks like the 1600 has one aluminium centre spar and my 2000 has two. leehamptoncross.wordpress.com/2018/11/21/volantex-ranger-1600-2000/ So probably not. Let me know how your 1600 goes.
BRAVOooo, BRAWOoo!!!

Thanks for that feedback. Yes, I must experiment with a higher capacity battery. I also plan to fit a camera on it sometime in the future.
i have one of these planes too! i use a 3s 3200 pack which means i don’t have to add any extra ballast to the nose
Yeah, I had seen that on a TH-cam. But for some reason, I opted to buy that smaller 2200. If I put an FPV camera on the nose, it will even it out!
NX3 gyro Dave? Or Hobby Eagle? Couldn't see it properly.
The Volantex Rangers, particularly the 1600mm and the 2000mm, are excellent gliders.
It’s the blue 3 Axis Gyro A3 V2. I have the same in my EPP Spirit and Cub. I find it useful in windy conditions.
👍
Big advise for FPV do not go analog, do not waste you money go digital, DJI or walksnail, I know is more expensive but cheap in the long run.
Thanks for the advice - duly noted.
