@@jennytaylor3324 OFAH refers to docks south of the river in Bermondsey, known as Surrey docks. The new apartments shown in the episode were fined in Wapping. Neither form part of Canary Wharf
I wish I had seen it all before the development took place. Sometimes you see the area on old episodes of The Sweeney and it would have been amazing to photograph.
Long Good Friday also features the area.
It was a derelict wasteland back then, I remember when Canary Wharf was going up too.
If you want to see a small part of what it all looked like back in the late 80s go to Millennium Mills and pontoon dock in that sits next to Silvertown way, opposite the Excel Centre.
Many plans have been tabled on development there, but it’s still stands derelict.
“We are pulling down your today to build our tomorrow”.
They started building Canary Wharf just a few weeks after this.
What about that view, eh!
A real tourist drawcard, no doubt.
And they were laying down a nice new sewage system at the time, as well?!
