I think Alpha GPC is a better source for acetylcholine than phosphatidylcholine

It could be helpful if you left this written in the description as well as what you use.

Sir, I am from India. My father underwent craniatomy in 2020 so as to remove his left sided subdural haematoma. He has developed psychiatric problem as well. He lacks his logical thought process thereby making the situation even more difficult for us to handle. He skips his meals at most times than not. A few days earlier he has been diagnosed with Covid Pneumonia. Please suggest a good Amway or Oziva supplement which shall prove to be helpful for my father's mental and physical health. Regards.

Hi Doc, I am almost sixty eight years old. In 1998 at age forty two I squired a diagnosis of Toxic Encephalopathy from a twenty seven year solvent exposure from work. I remember a Psychologist telling me, that a damaged brain oftentimes cannot process man-made vitamins well. Instead they tended to cause a lot of anxiety and other symptoms. For the next twenty or so years, I could not take any fat soluble vitamins without them racing me and causing a lot of problems.
Fast forward to 2014, I stopped taking 2 mg's of Klonopin for my solvent injury. After I tapered, I had a horrible almost two and a half year protracted Benzo withdrawal, that had me almost bedridden the whole time. During my Benzo withdrawal, "any" supplement I tried lit me up terribly. Have you ever experienced this in other people with TBI's? Thanks............ Bob

So sorry to hear of your struggles. In short, yes, cellular processing of macronutrients, micronutrients, alcohol, etc. can be significantly impaired in many cases such as yours. There are many reasons for this. Best to call us to discuss as far too much to get into here. 828.708.5274. All the best to you!

@@ApexbraincentersAvl I called early today. A lady booked a Doc to call me at 1:00 pm CST my time. She said to make sure I take the call. At 1:00 I was sitting in a parking lot outside my Doctors office to speak to him, but he never called. I called the office, and she did not know what happened. : (

I thought oral supplementation of gaba doesn’t pass the bbb…. Am I misinformed??

    • @ApexbraincentersAvl

There is evidence on both sides of the fence regarding passage through the BBB. Certain GABA analogs and agonists help promote increase in GABA production and better management of stress, muscle relaxation, etc. We've used many compounds over the years and have found this one in particular to have the best impact on our chronic TBI, anxiety, and other patients. This, of course, in concert with other ways to boost GABA production and utilization (i.e. exercise, meditation, dietary strategies, etc.). Thanks for following along.

@@ApexbraincentersAvl cannabis… that’s the best treatment available for tbi injuries… well that and medicinal mushrooms (both legal and illegal types). That’s what I’ve had the best luck with personally but it comes with serious legal repercussions, I would never suggest to anyone to break the law as it can have detrimental permanent changes to your personal, professional, and social life. That said, sometimes it’s worth the risk. 🤷‍♂️💚🙏

@@JP-mn5iv Appreciate the feedback. In treating TBI for 20+ years, if we've learned one thing, there's no "best" treatment. TBI care needs to be individualized for the person, type and scope of injury, symptoms, clinical findings, etc. What works for one may not work for the next. This is why there are no established, "evidence-based" TBI protocols with all our collective knowledge on the subject. That said, to your point, there is certainly growing evidence and efficacy with regard to the treatments you mention, and many groups, especially some supporting Veterans with TBI, are trying to move that type of research and awareness forward. Thanks so much for your comments and following!
