Things I have to say after watching this video:
1.The nuts you bought is usually for cooking/to prepare another dish.
    2.Dates = kurma
3.When you guys break the fast, starts with eating kurma or sweet fruits or anything sweet. Then drink plain water.
    4. Always hurry to break the fast. Always eat suhur/sahur, the later the better(never skip sahur).
    5. Just buy any groceries you want to prepare the food. You don't have to be specific. Usually, different place/states enjoys different meal when breaking the fast. Single working people usually just buy the ready made food at Bazaar Ramadhan.
    6. Avoid being angry during fasting. Be patient. You don't want to feel stress during Ramadhan.
がんばってください。May you have a gentle Ramadhan. Enjoy the experience.

    1. dates "kurma"
    2. Oat + milk - good for make your full for halfday
    3. Bread
    4. Milo
    5. Egg, you can eat with bread
This item is basic for single people. If you like to cook, you need buy many raw ingredients, like rice, garlic, onion, veggy, fish or chicken,
    Hope this will help.

It's ok Nobu. Even, my English friends are confused when they first heard about dates. They don't even know it's a fruit. The locals are used to calling it
"Kurma" hence the confusion. Your English is very good.

It’s going to be a hot month so make sure to drink lots of water especially during sahur in the morning! If you eat dates during sahur, it will also help you to feel full throughout the day. That’s the power of kurma! I hope you can enjoy ramadhan to the fullest here ❤️
P/s ramadhan teaches us to have everything in moderation and also to be mindful of the unfortunates, so it’s important to remember this when you buy food for the iftar (break fast) later😄

Hi Nobu. During my grad studies, I have a Japanese friend name Nobu as well, his full name is Nobutaka. He also liked to ask many questions about the Malay culture and Islamic faith, as he compares to his own culture back in Japan.
When you asked the Aunties at the Pasar 'What do you recommend for Ramadan?' and they didn't really answer is probably because there isnt any specific dish we eat for Ramadan apart from Kurma. That's where Ramadan Bazaars comes in- you can try out one dish (or even more) a day, or try cooking whatever dish you please to your heart's content. Hehe.
Also, unlike Japanese festivals, there are specific or typical dishes to commemorate the celebration as well. For this, you can expect for Eids- Hari Raya Aidilfitri and Hari Raya Korban, there would typically be rendang, ketupat, lemang, kuih raya, etc. cooked especially to celebrate that particular time.
But for Ramadan, the focus is more on doing good deeds ie. sharing & giving (like the Auntie that paid for your breakfast), spending valuable time with family & friends during Iftar, doing a lot of self reflections, soul purifying acts ie. try to be more grateful, patient, generous esp towards the less fortunate ones.
When we fast for one month and try to carry on life as normal, we can understand better how it feels for the ones who don't always have food to eat. This creates more empathy towards others around us. We also learn not to waste food and only eat what we can finish.
Sometimes it take years to gain permanent good habits, so for every Ramadan, we try to be a better version of ourselves, compared to the last Ramadan. Of course, we can pick anytime of the year to change, but Ramadan is a very blessed and holy month for Muslims worldwide, as you may already know and want to join in.
Eating Kurmas (not Kuruma, lol) is a great start. Really sorry for my long comment. Hope it may help to fill in your unanswered questions and make your stay here more meaningful and memorable. Wish you a Happy Ramadan. Itadaki-makan! =)

Nobu San,you may buy roasted nuts, raisins, milk, oats, banana for suhoor. But most Malays eat rice with side dishes or fried rice for suhoor. I like your interraction with the woman during eating Nasi lemak. Like mother and son...Ganbatte for your Ramadhan! Welcome to Malaysia ☺️

    1. 14:22 "Its For your Rezeki today" is like its your day today or its your luck today, or it is your blessed. The actual meaning of 'Rezeki' is, its something that God (Allah) give it to you as spiritual and physical needs'.
I don't know if this help..

@@amiragadotimtim8203 easy bro, the fasting is not exclusive to muslim only, many non muslim like cristian also practise fasting every year, so here he just want to learn or experience fasting in ramadan and how it feel. you cant force them to accept Islam, that not how our Prophet teach us when we do dakwah to non muslim

Take kurma with fresh milk..goat milk is better..but mostly we eat heavy food for sahur to gain the energy like nasi..can replace it with cereal or bread..if you guys easy to get stomach ache, drink milk when sahur time..eat fruit like pisang or red apple..or you can blend milk with kurma & pisang..its good..anyway,selamat berpuasa kepada anda semua..its will be challenging but trust me,it’s worth it..can’t wait to watch next video..

Also, we Muslim people "fast" to remind ourselves that there are other people in this world who can't even eat a proper meal (don't have enough money, poor people, homeless people) so that we all can experience their feelings and how it feels to starve and can't eat all the time. With that being said, it is to make sure that we always appreciate the food we can eat and be grateful❤️
