Grande Bruscantini.Uno dei migliori "di provenza"che ho mai sentito.Le prime due frasi con cui attacca la seconda parte dell'aria,sono di una tale delicata intensità emotiva da lasciare col fiato sospeso. Fantastico!
Inconmensurable Bruscantini a pesar que Verdi no era un músico adaptado a su vocalidad. Pero en un fragmento como Di Provenza , tan delicado y cantabile, aflora el arte , la clase y y su formidable técnica. Incomprensible que casi todos los barítonos de su generación hayan pasado casi todos a la gloria y Bruscantini como un barítono bufo de segundo nivel.

Una volta lessi un commento su un'altrta aria che diceva..quando tutti pensano che quell'aria non sia per Sesto, lui sale in cattedra e ti dice ecco si canta cosi!!!

But the voice and the pictures are out of sync. I might be able to fix that. Bruscantini never sang these serious roles much in America. He was more famous for buffo. I know him in the theater only for those. But this is top notch.

His personality, charm and the wonderful character and colour with which he sings doesn't mark him in only one style, eg. Buffo. In his life, he was a versatile artist and one of the leading exponents of the belcanto style of his, most significant, generation. Graziella Sciutti, his great friend, was another hugely significant artist of this generation.
Signori Bruscantini was one of the greatest baritones of any period. I heard him often. Does anyone realize that the tenor singing Alfredo is Jose Carreras (so very young) but the beauty of the voice already apparent.
Remarkable, like Gobbi he was taught to treat the lower notes lightly and the higher with depth - for one of the highest baritone Verdi roles this has such beautiful rich tones throughout - bel canto at its best. Will we ever see the like again?

There is no better rendition of Di Provenza than this beautiful performance by Sesto Bruscantini - wonderful.
