IMPORTANT! When tensioning balancer belt in way we showed, it is easy to over tension it.
Proper way to tension balancer belt (from Honda Manual) is to:
    1. Loosen the adjusting nut 2/3-1 turn to tension the timing balancer belt.
    2. Remove the bolt holding rear balancer shaft, then install the 12 mm sealing bolt.
    3. Install the lower cover and crankshaft pulley, then tighten the pulley bolt.
    4. Turn the crankshaft pulley about one turn counterclockwise, and only then tighten the adjusting nut.
No need to push tensioner bearing down manually.

Did you have problems after tensioning the balancer shaft this way? I done it the same way by pushing down on the pulley and have a noise at idle that I’ve pinpointed to the balance belt, are you sure that’s the proper way to tension it? Everything’s perfectly timed and I’m running a brand new auto oem timing belt tensioner so I know it’s not that. Saw another comment on this vid about the balance belt being too tight

Personally, we did not have problems with balancer belt noise or over tensioning. Balancer belt does not need a lot of tension so it is very easy to over tension it while pushing the tensioner down like we showed. After some research conclusion is that this was not the proper way to tension the balancer belt... We just pinned comment that contains proper instructions on how to tension the balancer belt.

While loosening exhaust cam sprockets, the back pulley jumped 1 tooth out of time forwards. How do I reset it. Can I just rotate the sprocket 2 tooth clock wise to realign the two sprockets

Yes you can rotate it back clockwise it should not cause any problems. Just make sure that both cams are at TDC.

My pulley didn’t have the metal sleeve, do you know what the part number is or where I could find it?

Part code I think is 14530-P13-000. I would try to search it in scrap yard or buy new if possible

How tight should the balance shaft belt be? I think I may have made it too tight

Did u follow this video too? I think mines too tight and I tensioned it the same way as the video, do you have a weird whirring noise at idle that goes as soon as you rev it?

Hi isn't the bolt for the auto tensioner pully 49ft lbs ? 66nm is too much this will damage the threads!!!!!!!!!!!! Pl make sure it's not that high

      66 nm = 49 ft lbs

looks like your timing belt slightly slide out from cam pulley..

    • @GK_Works
      @GK_Works  2 ปีที่แล้ว

Yes, after rotating engine several times it went slightly of the edge like 1-2mm but it didn't go any further. So we left it as it is and now about a half year later we didn't notice any problems. But if it walks off a lot then there is a serious problem. If your belt is walking make sure everything is tightened/installed correctly and that after first start there are no rubbing or squeaking noises.

@@GK_Works thank you..yes my timing belt walk off before this & rubbing the cover..but now i think it look ok..later install my fuelpump & try to start the engine..hope the timing belt stay..
