    Thank u for covering this topic. You literally expressed my thoughts and experiences in words.
    I often discuss this with my friends but they always think I'm wrong,it is what it is and they end the discussion by saying that it's all in Islam and this is how nature works which always reminds me of the quote " When you don't even know that you're a slave,how are you going to get the freedom "
    I remember every moment and day when I saw this discrimination and men's superiority.
    Yes,we do demand social equality.
    What I think is , though there are biological differences between men and women, these differences should not be used to discriminate against any gender. For me, gender equality is not a about ERASING the differences but rather not using this differences to discriminate or to show superiority.. That's what human rights charter says about Gender equality! Each gender can't exist without the other. Both need to understand!
    More power to women!

    It was a single side of picture (perspective). As you said; there is no master without slave. When a woman becomes a mother then she immediately becomes a master. It doesn't mean her child are slave. But male and female both look after and bring up their child as per nature's law. Maternity is the woman's power not her weakness. Obviously, woman have different biology and she cannot lay down the male. In fact, male has to lay down female due to their biology. Don't represent a single side of picture. Picture always has other side. Understand these lines. These are debatable.

    What a surprise. A book, that I thought would never be covered in a muslim country. A book that emancipated me from the shackles of biased religious beliefs and traditions. Our culture and religion, although boasts otherwise, plays a major role in the suppression of women. You did a great service for Pakistani women by creating this lesson on the book. I consider this book to be a life changing phenomenon and a source of mental liberation for women. Salute to your courage!!🙌👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

    This video definitely hits the nail on the head! But you see in our Pakistani society/culture people lean towards the religion when it comes to women’s rights (as I do understand it’s d Difficult) but would have been good if you would have mentioned Islam too. Pakistani people will probably think that we have nothing to do with judaism and Christianity, we are treating women according to Islam .
    Although Islam is Abrahamic religion and most of the Islamic values come from the Abrahamic religions. Will be reading the book. Thank you

    Dear Book Buddy, your video was thought-provoking and brought up important questions about the unequal treatment of women in society. While you discussed various perspectives, I couldn't help but wonder about the Islamic point of view on this matter for better understanding. It's true that historically, men's physical capabilities contributed to their dominance, but with the rise of technology, this dynamic is evolving. Men and women are different, so comparing them directly may not be fair. Instead, let's focus on who is making a greater impact in serving our universe and society in the best way possible. It's a complex issue with many factors to consider.

    Secondly, De Beauvoir's ideas are rooted in postmodern philosophy which is a totally nihilistic and godless view.
    Interesting to note in relation to this is that De Beauvoir was in an OPEN RELATIONSHIP with Sartre which means while they were committed to each other they were free to engage in sexual encounters outside that relationship. In fact, it is said that one reason Sartre developed tensions with his friend Albert Camus was that he refused to sleep with De Beauvoir despite Sartre's insistence.

    Very well summarized in the end . There is a built in difference between two genders , thats originate from nature , and not by society. It can be pretty well explained by two major mechanism 1 : hormones 2 : psychology .
    Women hormones Estrogen and Progesterone , Prolactin and LH , all affect psychology of women , making their bodies delicate and feminine . More submissive , emotional and not muscular and aggressive . Thats what make woman beautiful and attractive . And that woman is high quality woman instead of a muscular , fighter , or aggressive woman . Woman power is hidden in her feminism and not in male like behavior ,

    I listen carefully your whole video many points are very good and thinkable and needs to be.. But I believe As a father of 2 daughters, it is not all about ruling the woman. But also many emotional educational financial cultural & social factors attached. It is an evolutionary other than revolutionary process to give rights and full liberty to the women. If your society is not feminism friendly, it is my duty as a father and husband to protect them secure them. If your society is feminism friendly then you should guide them as per society. and the same time Islam has given many rights to woman. if we implement honestly. it can create balance as well. Mothers daughters sisters wives and other woman have respect. Prophet pbuh married a working woman. So we should think and take actions together, but it is possible in only an educated society. we first do work on education, then feminism will not an issue... I observe my self and my father's life, we have very differences to treat our wives. so it is a process which can fasten with education. not that way... mera jism Meri Marzi...etc

    These ideas took shape in modern society when women were needed in the work force. Capitalism couldn't grow without the participation of half of the population. Hence, womanhood and motherhood were denigrated. Women were encourged to make themselves men.

      @Newshooter11 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Completely false. This is what happens when you make comments without reading the book. She emphasizes on equal rights, without giving up the person that a female is. She does not need to become a man, Men need to recognize her as not inferior to him. She just needs to recognize herself and not submit herself to a subservient role to men. They both have equal social values.

    • @Internet_Researcher
      @Internet_Researcher 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@Newshooter11 Of course she doesn't urge to women to actually become men. What I am referring to is the fact that feminist thought is anti-essentialist. It doesn't recognize the male and female essence or what it means to be a man or a woman. Once the female essence is rejected, the ideal feminism give to women is actually the male essence, that is going out and working, having career goals; basically everything that men do and are supposed to do. That's what I meant by urging women to become men.
      The female essence is homemaking and nurturing children. Women have a tenderness in their nature that is ideal for these tasks. The male essence, on the other hand, is labouring outside and providing for his family. The toughness men have in their nature is for that task. That is the natural order of being. And btw, this is traditional metaphysics that is rooted in the Divine.
      Feminism, on the other hand, is a modern ideology and rooted in rejection of traditional metaphysics - in other words, rejection of God. It is anti-essentialist and recognize no natural order of being. That is the reason it doesn't recognize male and female essences. But, unconsciously, it takes the male essence as its ideal.
