  • Among Us VR just released, and it is not blind friendly. I have some difficulty with most VR games, as I'm sure other visually impaired gamers do, but this game is simply unplayable. Honestly, the VRChat version is better, way more accessible, and its FREE!
PS, I tried a different mic for the voiceover on this one, and for the life of me, I couldn't seam to get any kind of consistency. So the audio is a bit all over the place, sorry. :)

I'd like to add a few things for anyone confused:
you can be legally blind and still have vision.
Also, I may not be legally blind but my eyesight is horrible. As a result, VR can be hard to play so videos like this really help.
Gamers with bad eyesight are a thing! And we want to play games, both VR and regular ones.
Sadly, developers don't often think about people with disabilities when they design games (which I get, it's hard!).
Really, we're just asking for quality of life stuff. Like text! Sometimes the text they use for the UI or dialogue is too small or the font is weird. I struggle so much to read stuff- even in a game like Skyrim, for exampl.
I wish I had the option to make it bigger or change the font.
That's only one example, mind you. But anyway yeah

Thanks for your video I was thinking of buying it, maybe but I have a few problems and one of it is my eyes I’m also legally blind (I call it legally so people who don’t understand the blind part won’t think that I see nothing at all) and the sticky screen in a game is a pain in the … I have nystagmus (I hope it calls nystagmus to in English) and that means I have to tilt my head to the side, for me always to the left, to stop my eyes for bouncing around if the screens turn with my head then the screen and text will bouncing and I can’t reed on that point plus it has to stay close to my face to. So that’s point one, point two is I’m living in central EU and most of the time when I have the time to play the rest of the world is asleep so why bordering to buy it. But once again thanks for your review and all the power for the blind gamers 😊

Thanks! I’m glad you found this video helpful. Sorry to hear you won’t be able to play this either, I was pretty disappointed when I realized I wouldn’t be able to. As I understand, though, the community pretty much immediately went to crap, and lobbies are now filled with screaming eight year olds, and other toxic people, so I guess we’re not missing out on much.

@@triplehelixxxvr Yeah I guess to. Actually I mostly don’t buy games where I have to shoot at the distance since it’s never possible and I’ll never buy multiplayer games like orbusvr or zenith bc of this screaming people and children I only play multi player games where I also can play solo and people I like like fishing vr and hopefully in the future puzzling places. Talking about last one, puzzling places, the devs are really great and they always help people with visual disabilities. I asked for a few things like the possibility to go up and down in stead of only right and left and yep they did that the next update and I asked more then that. One of the devs haves a girlfriend who is legally blind so he understands this problem perfect 😍

@@anitamelsen3719 yeah, I generally avoid shooters as well. Mainly because I can’t play them, but also, they’re just kind of boring, they’re all the same. But anyway, have you tried Demeo? You can play it solo or with friends. I also did a review on that one.

@@triplehelixxxvr yes I did and I like the game although I like more real scale games but I have to try it again someday. For now is puzzling places and cooking simulator and pinballvr the best games. I would like to play demeo with you actually so I’ll not be the only one who’s face is in the table in stead of above 😂

It’s a common idea that all blind people see nothing, but that’s actually not true. Blindness is a spectrum, and some people like myself have just enough usable vision to be able to play some games.

What a stupid answer. Look up what blind means. It means in America if I’m correct that people who can see 30% or less that they are blind. In my country they say that you’re blind when you see 10% or less. I see less than 10% so I’m blind but that doesn’t mean that I can’t play vr bc I do and most games are being aware of that and are playable for people like us. Sometimes it’s better that you don’t say anything if you don’t know what it means

First of all it is very hard to play any video game if you are blind is what he should have led with

      @triplehelixxxvr  ปีที่แล้ว +1

Well it is kinda right there in the title and thumbnail. And you’re right, it is hard to play any video game when you’re blind, and yet there are still so many of us blind gamers out there. So you think developers would be a little more inclined to add some accessibility options.

Look on youtube here there are 2 blind gamers who makes video’s about there playing games. One is playing Zelda and more games (he’s my favorite) and the other one play’s streetfighter on ps against profs and he wins a lot he is prof now with streetfighter so don’t judge there are a lot of blind people who play games it takes much longer to play it to the end but that doesn’t matter it doesn’t mean that if you’re blind that you don’t like to do things that seeing people likes.
