    Good morning my friend.
I’ve found that most ideas we have to modify something works. But, no pride lost if it doesn’t work.

Tom, greetings. What kind of oil do you have in your gearbox? We started getting hot weather and my gears started shifting harshly. Transmission oil 75W90 with GL-4 approval is filled. There is no heat exchanger. I want to try using thicker oil for the summer. What do you think?

Hi Sergey. I got the same oil in mine transmission. Mobil Delvac 1 full synthetic 75W90. But my transmission have cooler.
Does your transmission getting hotter than usual? Or you only have noticed harsh shifting?
Have you ever try using oil stabilizer?
My truck use to have automatic transmission.
I remember my mechanic add it to my transmission oil after the swap.
The oil stabilizer is thick like honey. It will make your oil thicker for sure.

@@HalfThrottleTom I haven't tried oil stabilizer. Up to 20 degrees Celsius there are no problems. The gearbox temperature is about 80-90 degrees Celsius, that is, within normal limits. It was always hard to shift when it was hot. But it became annoying. In the morning you leave - everything is fine, after two hours you can’t turn on the program without extraneous sound.

@@Sergey_Bryansk I think Sergey there is something going on inside the transmission. If it’s hard to shift when warmed up, and than the noise, that doesn’t sound good. When was the last time you changed the oil?

I changed the oil about 2000 kilometers ago. There was a problem, antifreeze got into the gearbox oil. Therefore, the heat exchanger was removed and the oil was changed.

@@Sergey_Bryansk 2000 km, so you have super fresh oil in it, did you have this hard shifting and noise way before the oil change? Do you know how long you were driving with this coolant/oil mixture? It was a lot of coolant mixed with trans oil?
