I'm 39, but thanks to some lucky investments in my 20's and early 30's am retiring at 40. I'm going to convince my wife to sell our home and move into one of these if it's the last thing I do lol. We've got family all over the country and in Canada, what a way to travel!
I would LOVE to see one of you Overland manufacturers make an all electric rig. Idk what would be the best way to do it. Be it working with GM and using either their Hummer or Silverado/Sierra EV platform, or if it would be easier/better to use an existing gas or diesel vehicle and use E-axels and convert the ICE into a generator. I really don't know. I just know it's possible. But whichever one would be best, turn into an awesome overland rig... I think that would be SO COOL. A fully electric overlander that's just as capable as ICE overlanders. The roof and hood could be loaded up with solar and fully capable of charging the vehicle batteries over a few days. You could also do the whole onboard generator thing with an existing ICE platform. Or a new custom one. Maybe Edison Motors would be willing to team up. That would be SO awesome... I definitely think it's possible to fully charge with just the solar though. Like I said. It would just take a few days. But when you're driving your house. You can just park for a few days to let the batteries charge. Then continue on. But you could also, again, have some onboard generator. Just add a good water filtration system to be able to collect water and you'd be fully self sufficient... The ULTIMATE doomsday rig...
I drive a Kenworth Concrete Mix truck for a living, Its nearly impossible for me to "get stuck" unless I deliberately go into deep mud. If a fully loaded 80000 pound mix truck can crawl through some of the most aggravating construction sites you have ever scene and up near 50 degree slopes hills and roads. your going to have to try REALLY hard to "get stuck" in this thing especially when it has its own wince to get you out....
no, the Zombie Apocalypse is already here, has been for some time. they all stare at tiny pieces of glowing glass and have no ability to think for themselves, act with the mentality of a herd of lemmings, and rage in unison when you don't psychically know their preferred suffix in their name............ Id love to have this to get far far away from them. they dangerous....
You think with that much fuel that if it had autostart that it would work. But I bet they didn't want the shake of start stop. I was a trucker for years, and our semi had auto start no genny, it would save weight and add storage if they went that way.
@richardhollingworth1166 in my semi it would kick on the truck when the batteries were low. It didn't idol it cranked up the RPMS and held it until the batteries were charged and cut off by it's self.
My take, congrats: k370 engine, what is the story of this Paccar engine or Cummins, turbo, no turbo etc.? please expound upon. 2-is the service for the chassis KW worldwide as we travel way far south of the border? avoiding the bad-hombres territory 3-Can it be converted to hybrid, Diesel and Natural gas to a net equivalent of 18mpg in net savings? I have a genset 80kw 6.7L Cummins converted to hybrid diesel-natural gas on the fly, we went from 4 gallons/hour to 8 gallons/hour equivalent in net savings 4-can the cabin fit 4 passengers? 5-Diesel tank a big problem, $10,000 worth of diesel is a bad-hombres magnet traveling south of the border, r those tanks built tamper-proof or tank locked with double steel walls on the diesel tank? 6-I like the alternative kit AGM-battery with a genset myself, like a Newell Coach, without an expensive lithium kit... what would be the starting price for the Patagonia? 7-can the DEF be hacked, not need for that system south of the border?
Love everything about it. But it’s 1M dollars (679k MSRP). If you had it for business, this makes sense. Everyone who does get one and is making enough money to not be stressed by its cost will love it.
If you use it for business and can prove it to the IRS I'm pretty sure you could write this off. Or a large portion thereof. Check with your accountant to be sure though. I'm not a tax expert.😊
tried and true kenworth k370? 1 it's been out 10 years, hardly "tried and true" 2 it's got the cp4 pump, that thing is for sure to take the whole engine out.
Always a concern to me with these builds is no alternate means of propulsion. To be marooned 150 miles from anything and no means of propulsion would be a disaster.
Storytellers are built very poorly. Don't be fooled by their slick advertisements. I have one of these and I can say the craftsmanship in these expensive vehicles does not exist. Just someone slapping them together. If you don't believe me buy one and find out for yourself.
Compared to some other offroad expedition vehicle it seems to be a little bit "funny" to speak about great offroad capabilities. Its wheelbase is much to long and the aproach angle much to low. There are a lot of trucks with better geometrie. Might be great to live in and for bad roads, but please don't speak about the great offroad capabilities.
I drive a concrete mix truck all day long on some of the worst construction sites on the side of hills in the bluffs of Iowa and Nebraska. IF I can get a up to 80000 pound low riding Mix truck with the exact same wheel base without that 4 wheel drive through what I do. This thing will tackle anything unless your deliberately trying to get stuck!!!
MY GOODNESS MAN! Zombie apocalypse/ Mad Max vehicle ready! 🫡. Will you take my left kidney as a down payment?😂. Very nice innovation!!! Keep it up GXV!!!
This thing is a beast. Makes a Sprinter look like nuthin'
That blank spot on the roof would fit a Starlink perfectly
EXACTLY
I'm pretty sure this is what I need in my life... I also have $3. LOL! Super cool rig!!!
Epic walkthrough sir!! 💪🏼 This rig is crazy cool.
Excelente gracias... desde Mendoza Argentina!!!
This is nice upgrade from my Walmart parking lot model.

This is the DREAM!! 🥹
I need to sell my house first.
I need to sell some else’s nice house, first.😜
Shit, you probably have a really nice house.
MSRP is $900K but I think it's on sale for debut!
Youre not gonna need one anymore anyway
Nice job great expedition love it
Thanks for the Quebec shoutout 🙌
Great overview what is the highway speed ?
Are we able to customize the rigs the way we want it to?
Can this thing run on Mexican Diesel
Great looking vehicle!
Truly an Epic Rig!!!
Awesome build.
Awesome unit🤙🏾
Cool rig. Not knocking a cassette toilet, just seams that it might limit time exploring 5-6 days. Why not offer other toilet options?
seriously interested if the GXV Epic be had with a 4-Dr Crew Cab & 18.0 ft camper capsule/module . . . please advise . . .

Leasing available?
When I get it stuck off road, how many Jeeps will it take to pull me out? I suspect that thing weighs in excess of 25,000#.

Could you add seatbelts to the dinette seating for traveling with a family?
I really hope you answer, do I need my air brake endorsement to drive this?
Pretty European build... 👌

Why do you need a generator if you have the truck’s engine?

I was a trucker for years, and our semi had auto start no genny, it would save weight and add storage if they went that way.
The truck is a 12v system (actual a 24 chocked down) At idle it takes a lot longer to charge than the generator
@richardhollingworth1166 in my semi it would kick on the truck when the batteries were low. It didn't idol it cranked up the RPMS and held it until the batteries were charged and cut off by it's self.
gods I wish I could win the lottery......... its the only way ill ever be able to own something like this :(
can you mount a bike rack to GXV epic?

So you put wooden cabinets in shower area? Won’t that lead to wood rot ?
He stated it was teak, so it should be great for that area.

why not a 9 liter Cummins? so underpowered !
tried and true kenworth k370?

Impressed motorhome it's beautiful how much
hopefully this is more storyteller than GXV, which have always been riddled with issues.
I wish they sold these overland vehicles at a price someone on an hourly wage could afford :(
Not that i can afford it but 4 door cab version?
no, kenworth does not make one, if they did then probably
No outside kitchen ??
ya, its call a fire pit! and you have a cap ton of storage, pack a grill!
wild thornberrys still the goat. Car can float 😂
I want to trade my rv and jeep for this beautiful beast
Not bad for a $700k base.😊
no need for that crappy loud music at the start ffs

You can always get out and push 😂

Not nearly as good as Unicat or Action Mobil. The Germans and the Austrians make the best expedition vehicles - hands down!

Annoying music.
I’ll give you 200k cash now!😀
That just about covers the truck it's on.
