- UPDATE: The tabs for this piece are now available in this e-book:
www.ukulele-art...
Finally I recorded my arrangement of this wonderful piece. During the last month I arranged many wonderful christmas carols and pieces. So I intend to put this arrangement as final piece into my upcoming christmas e-book. It will contain 20 arrangements. Most of them are new, just for "Silent Night" I will use my old arrangement which is really nice and easy to play.
Most pieces in this e-book will be really easy, the difficulty level is much lower as in my previous e-books. This will be the final piece because it's the most demanding of them.
I want to thank all my supporters! :-) However I am still unsure if the pricing of my recent e-books was okay. So I'd be happy about feedback and suggestions :-)
Sorry for the cuts. All kinds of things went wrong during this recording, hardware and software failures as well as other distractions. At the end I decided to try to paste together the remnants anyway. Since it sounds a lot better as I feared, I decided to upload it anyway.
You can find my older e-books here: www.ukulele-art...
I wish you all the best and a great time playing the ukulele!
Wilfried
Bach made such great music inspired by the sacrifice of Christ. Thank you for this version and may God bless you.
Thank you too and all the best!
WOW! Look at those hands crawling all over! Amazing my friend! To get this to sound good on a guitar is SOOO difficult but on 4!!!??? Are you kidding me! i am so impressed my dear Wilfried! You are the best! Those notes at 2:08! How do you do that? WOW!
i LIKE this and all my 64 thumbs up!
Hugs,
Per-Olov
Ein grosses Kompliment für Arrangement und Spiel dieses
anspruchsvollen Stücks!
Hello Wilfred .. have just arrived home and find this to welcome me ... It's beautiful , simply beautiful and one would never know you had ll the problems described .... Pure genius lol
Thanks so much , Helena :-)
Thanks a lot, Peo! You're so generous with your praise! When I finished this recording session, I almost deleted it... The music however is so great. Bach was probably the greatest musical genius of all times.
Of course I also listened your version of this piece, and it is wonderful.
I really wanted to transcribe the full melody line of the 1st violin, this has not been done so far for the ukulele AFAIK. It's a bit of a challenge, but it's such a beautiful melody...
Best Regards, Wilfried
I was thinking of buying a ukulele for Christmas, but I wasn't too sure so I found out my favorite song (this song) is being played by a musician so for sure, I'm getting a ukulele for Christmas thanks to you!
Merry Christmas and I wish you a great time with the Ukulele!
Wonderful - you make this little instrument sound warm and wide.
Thanks for sharing.
Simply awesome. I admire your effort in arranging those beautifull classical tunes for ukulele.
Really wonderfu! The best (the definitive, IMHO) version for ukulele I've never heard! Bravissimo!
Wunderschön. Meisterhaft gespielt.
Beautiful arrangement!!! Awesome!
This is so beautiful, Wilfried!
yet you manage it Wilfred and therefore I am always happy to hear your music Helena :-)
As always, beautiful - thank you. Greetings from Canada...
hi wilfred
so beautifully performed.
the cutting and pasting
is also so well done.
bravo.
peace, rich
Thank you! I still don't get how Bach made so much great music...!
Thanks Helena! Bach was indeed such a genius! I love his music too. It's just hard to do it justice!
Regards,
Wilfried
Superb! Beautiful arrangement, wonderful playing.
Thank you, you have a wonderful gift, and you inspire me. I really want to do this and am well into it. Thank you.
+Patrick Mahoney Thanks, I wish you a great time playing the ukulele! :)
As always, very beautiful.
Wilfried, You are truly gifted. Wonderful!. Bach would be very proud! :-)
Beautiful!
Hallo Wilfried! Das ist wunderschön! Ich mag das Stück sowie so gerne und freue mich, dass du es uns auf der Ukulele vorspielst. Grüße von Martina
Wilfred -- Thanks for sharing the news about your new Christmas tabs! Jeff / Humble Uker
Thanks Mike! I have to say it was much more fun as pain. Bach's music is so beautiful that it is a joy even if it is insanely difficult :-)
That said, it was not too difficult. I spent some time trying different variants to find elegant fingering, and that was quite enjoyable too.
Regards
Wilfried
du spielst sehr schön:) tolle Technik!!
gruss aus der Schweiz
Thanks for your beautiful performance. I am trying to find the publication that has the tab for this on your website but cannot find it.
Thank you. Please take a look at the link provided in the description of the video. It's the very last tab in this e-book (also the most difficult).
I know it's a bit misleading if you look at the video provided in piece 20 of this e-book. But in fact there are 2 arrangements of this piece in the e-book, so you could say this is the 21th arrangement of the book.
cuts aside… great tone, stunning playing ability! as far as the pricing: absolutely fair enough a deal. i for one would be willing to pay more.
Very nicely done! Thank you.
Sehr schön gespielt. Und das ganze Griffbrett genutzt.
Wonderfull as always Wilfried, very inspiring.
Thanks a lot! :)
Great job, Wilfred. I'll bet that was painful fun to arrange.
Thank you, that's great feedback :-)
Thank you! I'm trying to do my best :-)
Thanks, Tim!
Beautifully played😊👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thanks :)
Thank you, Jeff -- also for blogging me :-)
Best Regards,
Wilfried
Hi Rich, thanks for your kind words :-)
Regards,
Wilfried
Bravo! Impressive!
Thank you :)
Can u share the tabs brother?
Hello, please look at the description.
There are also plenty of free tabs on this site, however not of this piece.
Thank you, all the best.
@@wwelti ok thanks for the info
Danke, Annette! Es mußte unbedingt sein :-)
Thanks, Val! :-)
Nice. 🙂 When we will hear the next video? 😉
Thanks. Sorry that it takes me so long. So many other things happening...
@@wwelti yes, but now it's time. You have promised a video until the end of the week ;-)
Thank you too, Greetings from Germany :-)
Bravo! Well down!
I'll be buying it. :-)
Haha ... I would rather feel like in heaven and dream on ... :-)
Like it - beautiful playing, thanks!
Fantastisch im campanella Stil!
Vielen Dank!
Thanks, Karli! :-)
John King arrangement in F.
Wilfried Welti arrangement in G. ?
Yes I arranged it so I could play all the parts of this piece the way I wanted... The John King arrangement is different.
@@wwelti
Many thanks for your quick reply.
I`ve played this Bach piece (King arr.) in F.
However, I will try your version in G.
Have you heard/tried -
Hone A Ka Wai by Ernest Ka'ai ?
I learned it via James Hill on TH-cam.
On first hearing, I thought it was a piece
by Chopin !
@@debussy2002 Thank you. I believe I heard it already, but somehow I never played it. Sweet little piece. I should give it a try. It was also arranged by John King.
@@wwelti
Yes, James Hill. plays the John King arr, which is what I learned. I gradually added to it. As you say, a sweet piece in 3.
Thanks a lot! That's a high praise, however maybe you should listen John Kings recording of this piece. He was so amazing...
Awesome job man. So melodic. Is it easy to learn the ukulele if you already play the guitar?
Thanks a lot! :-)
Thanks. I _will_ make a tutorial for reading tabs. I promise.
Regards
Wilfried
Thank you! :-)
Thanks :-)
Merci :-)
Beautiful! It seems it's more challenging to play this on ukelele than on a normal six-string guitar. Are my impressions right? His left hand makes some gymnastic.
Thanks. This is mostly campanella playing, where for every new note a different string is plucked, so that notes blend into each other. Actually this is easier on the ukulele than on the guitar due to the re-entrant tuning. It's a special way of playing that is not very usual on the guitar.
Wow, very interesting.
Dankeschön :-)
Is that a slow tremolo you’re using there Wilf?
No, it's just mostly campanella playing. :)
Thanks. Yes, sure, it's much easier as for a complete beginner.
Danke Martina! War gar nicht so einfach! Aber man wächst ja mit seinen Herausforderungen :-)
Viele Grüße
Wilfried
tolle Zupftechnik, meine Hochachtung!
