Hi. I work next door the White House. The building you picture at 5:16 is the Old Executive Office Building, not the White House. The WH is currently fenced off due to protests and the Jan 6th insurrection. But normally you can view the WH from the North & South lawn. Glad y’all enjoyed your time in the District!
What a great tour!! Always best to start the day with coffee!! 👍 This brings back memories of when we were there, almost 11 years ago. Thanks for showing us around, and we're glad you two enjoyed yourselves, as usual!! See you soon!!
@@27Travels We saw basically the same things that you did, but we didn't have enough time to venture out of the tourist area. We did get to see the Vietnam Memorial, which is very well made. The Smithsonian Museum was open, so we got to go inside. Too many things to list here, but you get the idea!! Thanks again!!
DC has 700k residents, but pre-COVID had 2 million people between 9-7. So with everyone working from home and less tourists you have a central city that is literally basically empty.
This reminds me that I was in Washington DC too just for a couple of hours. I visited, like you, all the memorials, the White House, Ford Theater and luckily was also to go to the Smithonian. Would love to visit again to see the beautiful street art.
Honestly, take this video down or edit out the "White House" part. How anyone in this age of instant information can so badly get wrong the most famous building in our nation is beyond me. Totally flabbergasted and shook still.
We were there for two weeks in 2013. We loved it. There was a government shutdown the second week,(which we were pretty sure was going to happen) and since we travelled from California, we visited many places the first week, from early morning to midnight. We even arranged a visit to the Pentagon, before the shutdown. Would definitely go to places you recommended when we get to go again! Thank you!
That wasn't the white house? or did Joe move to shake things up? Also, I think all the museums in DC part of the Smithsonian Institute and you guys were in front of the Natural History Museum, which is really cool!
Thanks for making this video. I am looking for creative ways to grow my DC centric travel channel and I appreciate your remarks.
Thanks so much for watching! Good luck on your channel!
where do you park to see Lincoln?
I think we parked near the Smithsonian and walked!
Great video! Question did you all walk to all of these places? If not how is parking? Fees?
Great question! We walked almost everywhere! Parking would definitely be difficult in downtown DC.

LOL that is not the white house. In reality, you can't even get that close to the white house
