I love my Vostoks! I have two Amphibias, three Komandirskies, and one SE GMT version. They are tough, reliable, and can be regulated to be super accurate! I believe all Komandirskie cases are chrome-plated brass with S.S. case backs, or just brass, as I have one without the chrome plating. Amphibias are S.S. with chrome-plated bezels. They have "character"! The acrylic crystal is very nostalgic, and scratches buff out easily! Thanks Oleg!
Thank you for sharing about the case finishes, my friend. The next video I do on Komandirskie I will make sure to give proper case finishes. I am also thinking of getting an Amphibian myself. Which Amphibians do you have? Any recommendations? Thanks, as always, for your support, Oleg.
Hey Oleg! I have the classic Scuba Dude in aqua blue on ministry (710) case, also a 1967 style on 090 case, and GMT SE, all very cool and linked below! Btw, I am possibly moving to I-F Ukraine this fall, and may have a few questions. A friend moved there and found a long stay hotel room for $164 a month! Very cool city! In the 6 digit model number, the first two digits are the case style, the third is the case metal type, and the last three are the dial design. Your Komandirskie models have a 1 so they are made out of chrome-plated brass. If it was a 0 instead, they would be stainless steel. The bezels and crowns are also chrome-plated brass. The Komandirskie 65 has both a stainless steel bezel and crown. It appears to be identical to the Amphibia 670 other than the case finish is mostly brushed.
I have one of these. For £30 you can hardly expect them to regulate them at the factory. Easy to regulate yourself if you watch the how to do it videos. Use a wooden toothpick and be patient. The date clicks over at midnight not like Seiko 5 which gradually starts at 8.30 pm. These are field watches. Tough as nails despite the toy-like look. Brass crown and case with chrome or gold coloured chrome plating.Stainless steel back. I have mine on a black Hirsch merino artisan leather strap. It costs slightly more than the watch! Remember to use the same springbars that came with the watch as they are thick and extra tough. I love mine and wear it alternately with my Vostok Amphibia 710 ministry case scuba dude version
Got mine last week, no complaints, the price is very reasonable and it is a neat watch. I don’t get all the hate for the strap, I think it looks good with these watches and hard to complain at that price point.
and the watch has a different coating on top of the brass case, some watches (with a parachute) this is chrome, and the second watch is coated with titanium oxocarbonitride
Oleg...quick question for you. How do these new reproductions compare to their vintage counterparts (Same exact dial graphics etc)? I'm curious how the builds differ between the two.
You made me buy the 211398, Oleg! It’s really nice, especially with a brown leather strap. Good enough to be a daily driver as it doesn’t look too much like a novelty. Mine is +20 sec fast but I hope it will slow down after the break-in period. Otherwise I will regulate it myself. Thx
I love my Komandirskie and the next Bostok I get will be a Scuba Dude Amphibian in the round case with a Seiko rally bezel. There's an eBay seller who does them pre-made but they're always out of stock. May have to just get it in parts and mod it myself. Thanks, as always!
Justin, my next Vostok will also be an Amphibian. I haven't decided on the dial/model yet (might also go for a scuba dude). Please, give an update once you buy one and how the mod will go (if you decide to do it yourself). I'm considering a mod myself just haven't decided on exactly what I want to do. All the best, Oleg.
Hey Oleg. How can I figure out what case I have on my new Komandirski. I got one after watching this video but the case is slightly different where the band attaches.
Hey there, there are couple of ways to figure out what model you have. 1. Check your eBay transaction history (if you bought on eBay), it should have the model number in the tittle of the watch. 2. There should be a sticker on the side of the box with the model number. 3. (This one is the most time consuming) Go to eBay. Pick a seller (ex. moscowtimeseller) and go through all of the Komandirskie watches they have for sale. I hope that helps. How are you liking your Komandirkie? All the best, Oleg.
your first one was my second one and my second one actually came in second. my third one never did come back but I did get a refund that one was my Amphibia which really disappointed me that that one didn’t make it.
+30sec/day is not too bad. You can regulate the movement to make it more accurate. There are quite a few different videos and articles on the subject. All the best, Oleg.
Nice review love modding vostoks. However I just went to the next level and ordered a Vostok Kommandirske K-34 GMT ...170USD. I will be doing an unboxing and review on my channel..
got the k34 346609 too. Fantastic watch. perfect accuracy.I haven't had to set the time again since I got it 1 month ago. Bought it from Komandirskie.com for 7200 rubles (about €100) Free delivery and great communication.
Hey Oleg, I may be moving to Ukraine in the fall, and a friend of mine who is traveling around Eastern Europe right now, actually suggested I-F ! This is an excerpt from Bradt Ukraine Guide which said this about I-F in the opening paragraph : Ivano-Frankivsk! - "'Ivano' is the gateway for most travel into the Carpathians and a magnificent city to visit. Thanks to a complete urban restoration everything looks so sleek and fresh that this could well be western Ukraine's most sophisticated town. A series of city squares, pedestrian only boulevards and small urban trails make it a fun and accessible space, while the old Polish flair provides a romantic backdrop. Art, fashion, and business seem to be the town's latest creed and the outer signs show a successful blend of old and new."
That's so great to hear. Yes, Ivano-Frankivks has changed so much in the last few years. It is becoming more European, while keeping it's heritage. I think you will really enjoy Ukraine. The prices and the conversion rate make it living these very affordable. Oleg
Is it not 20m WR? And surely 50m is the very definition of swim ready watch? Fitbits with swim tracking all 50m WR. Casio 50m all approved for swimming.
and the watch has a different coating on top of the brass case, some watches (with a parachute) this is chrome, and the second watch is coated with titanium oxocarbonitride

Thanks Oleg, you are one of the few watch reviewers who can translate the Russian inscriptions. Very helpful!
Thanks John! Glad you found the review helpful. All the best, Oleg.
I think the case is made of brass, chrome plated.

Thank you Henry! Yes, these little Vostoks are fun. Even brand new they have a bit of a vintage look. All the best, Oleg.

24Hours At A Time I love the watch. Rugged and simple and keeps great time. I got the model number. Will that tell me the case number too?
Rumple Foreskin the first 3 digits of the number is the case.

So it's a hand wind , when it stops you wind it and then set time , who cares if it's 30 seconds off a day !
The original Straps was poor. You lost Your Watch !!!!!!!!!
