    Great video to watch while having my morning coffee. Always nice when you upload. Have you ever studied on underwater isopods? I was at a creek near my home and found hundreds of what looked like aquatic isopods. It blew my mind! I can't find much information online about them.
    One teleportation story I have is how one time I was brushing my teeth in my bathroom and found one of my Porcellionides pruinosus crawling around on the floor! It blew my mind. He was happy to be returned to his home I'm sure.

      LOL what a lucky Porcellionides! I have kept and bred one species of freshwater isopod (just put some I collected in an aquarium, and off they went!) I have also kept marine isopods, which is inevitable and extremely easy if you keep a marine aquarium with live rock.

      @@Aquarimax Hmm, you have given me an idea. I keep a couple of aquariums, and would love to get a tank and recreate their habitat and see how they do. Maybe one day you could do a video on freshwater or marine isopods. Thanks for taking the time to reply to me and sharing the info! Always a fan.

    Nice video Rus! I have had some juvenile/mancae Porcellio laevis appear in my wild caught A. vulgare enclosure. They are all tiny and hard to separate. So far I’ve separated two of the biggest juveniles (my estimate is only a few months old). Hard to separate because Porcellio laevis are delicate.

    I have had this happen with aquatic snails, i have both bladder snails and Malaysian trumpet snails in most of my systems. but as it turns out the trumpet snails are very competitive so i must take care to not allow them to out-compete rams horn snails or other "decorative" snails I may want to keep. bladder snails arent nearly so competitive, but they can leave the water for some time and are extremely small which means they are probably the most accomplished teleporters I've ever come across. Despite this I rather like what they both add to aquariums, the two species seem to not compete super directly and act similar to isopods or springtails in a terrarium.

    My teleporters are my heteropoda venatoria, hunstman spiders. They move faster than your eyes can track. Serious question here though. Are dairy cows soft bodied enough to feed to other invertebrates like arachnids? I have a tailess whip scorpion that I can't get to feed. As an arachnid keeper im not too worried but im trying to find something it will eat. Normal feeder insects haven't been working.

    • @Aquarimax
      @Aquarimax  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Most tailless whip scorpions are not interested in isopods, but scorpions, vinegaroons , centipedes will often eat them. You may find that the size of the prey item (close to that of the whip’s pronotum) is somewhat critical,

      @@Aquarimax awesome, thank you. Good to know. I have dwarf oranges and sprintails in the enclosure already but im concerned about getting the dwarf oranges out so I may introduce dairy cows and see if I can out compete them. Its my first bioactive set up and fishing dwarfs out of it sounds like a nightmare. Wasn't the smartest idea im starting to think 😆
