    From what I see on YT, structured hats better to be softened with a steamer. Also hooping needs to be really tight, so there will be no bouncing between the needle and the hat (some even use double layer of tear away). Gauge device is essential for bobbin tension control. For hats it needs to be tighter (215-220). Hope this will help, hats are not an easy project😁

    You can use those permanent black markers and cover the white but be careful not to mark the hat. Get the markers that are thin. Darker yellow on the white? Don't use the thin thread on the regular stitching. Sarah is so cute. She looks like a puppy. Dog therapy. I watch the Rocket in California. It's so cool.

    I use that simthread on my machine when I don’t have the color I need in Floriani ( my preferred thread) I run a brother 6 needle . I don’t use those small spools unless I’m in a pinch, they aren’t my favorite.

    I worked for a small business last year who used Ricomas. His main supplier was Richardson 112 and Livin Hook hats. I hated doing hats on the Ricoma so much. I was running his 4 head once with 4 hats at once and I heard crunch and bang ! 2 of the damn hats birdnested and broke needles . I was so flustered and cried bc I didn’t know what to do, my anxiety and stress was through the roof . I’m like what? Why did that happen? It was nuts ! I never touched another hat after that .

    It looks like you're having loss of registration. I usually have my digitizer re-digitize for a hat if it was a flat to start with. This way I don't have any loss of registration and it usually stitches out perfectly.

    Your struggle is real and not your fault. Check out the top 4 top embroidery machines: ZSK, Tajima, Bauradan, and SWF at the next ISS show or contact the local representatives and take some hats and your design and run it on their machines. It will be smooth sailing on any of those machines. Also, Madeira Threads has a lot of 60 weight thread that matches their 40 weight thread.

    If it is too loose you will see the thread color on the back and if it is too tight you will see the bobbin on the top. Remember righty tighty and lefty loosey

    Thank you for sharing your work. Im sure you already finished your hat order however logo for hats have to be digitized especificly for hats because of their structure. if you have to do the same logo on flat or hats you have to let your digitizer know also on what type of material is going to be embroidered.

    • @brittanybriggs3806
      @brittanybriggs3806  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks for this information, yes I do let my digitizer know it's for hats and the material. However everyone keeps telling me it should start from the center and work its way out, but I've yet to see that 🤦🏼‍♀️. I plan on exploring other digitizers for a future video.

    I embroider ever so often. So no expert here 😂. But I was watching someone else embroidering and the did say for small fonts. It does matter on needle and thread size. And they picked a font that was made for small lettering. You have patience like my husband. Those hats would have been sent back. 😮 I have worked on some projects that drove me insane. And it does feel good if you get it to finally work out. I also wondered about the hat type and how it was digitized. I love your videos. You help us problem solve. ❤

    For the future , some issues I saw right away is the circle was way to thin for a richardson hat. For hats always make things just a little thicker to help relieve some of the frustrations you are goiing throught. Another thing about richardson is the presser foot you have to adjust the foot to be lower. If you remove the ricoma panels you can see that the presser foot is high. You lower it and you will fix alot of needle break problems. I adjusted my machine for richardson hats and I never looked back. You can't give up on hats, they make so much money once you get the richardson hat down. If you need me to review your digitize files I can help you. I have offered you help my help before . Good Luck with the next hat project. You just can't be afraid.

    I would loosen top tension and tighten bobbin tension 1/4 turn. Test on a different fabric before putting another hat. Try using black bobbin thread. I only use white or black magna glide bobbins. And yes, some projects sometimes stress me out! Love watching your videos. You show the real things we all go through in the learning process. Keep up your good work.

    Have the digitize bottom to top center out. The curve of hat changes the placement slightly. Try to make the circle more of egg shape. Not full egg but slightly. Just slightly to compensate for the curve of hat.

    Could you add a window unit to that window to your right there so it's not so hot when you're working? The humidity in FL always slaps me when I step off the plane, so I know how hot and sweaty you're getting in the garage!
    I think your issues are with digitizing, not the bobbin/machine. I"d ask your digitizer to redo this, sizing it to the exact size you need for these caps and making sure it stitches for a cap (you can stitch cap digitizing on flat, but flat digitizing on caps doesn't always have the same results).

    • @brittanybriggs3806

      OMG it's been so hot in the garage, but hopefully have the machine moved soon 🤞🏼

    Hi i don't like embrodery on richardson hats. their hats construction is very hard. you have to use big needles or platinum needles. also use a digital tension gauge like the Towa it change my life.i have a chinise embrodery and i also change my tenssion spring because chinise company use cheap spring. alsi the digitize methode it's not the same for hats. use a satins stitch aroung big tatami to make it more clean.

  • @teresaholder5022

  • @wandaivetterivera3887
    @wandaivetterivera3887 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Those thread small spools are OK to use with the big machines
    To embroider on caps, design needs to be digitized for caps, that issue might not be the bobbin… when it’s digitized for caps the embroidery starts in the middle of the cap out…
    Your machine tool box should have a mini crew driver…lol

    • @brittanybriggs3806
      @brittanybriggs3806  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    • @wandaivetterivera3887
      @wandaivetterivera3887 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Try to have that same logo digitize for caps, you will see a difference for sure… cause you know caps are curved, and shirt are flat surface.. that makes a huge different on the placement as well…
