- Here's a look at a small trolley I made up to move a portable generator around, without busting a gut. The trolley is simple to make out of a small amount of steel and a pair of wheels. An easy welding project.
Nice design and implementation, simple, strong and light.
If you use this design for a heavier generator, I would recommend you weld a reinforcing web along the full length bottom of the axle to give it extra support. In the example in the video, the axle diameter is quite large for the weight is has to carry, so it's not an issue. Rob
Thanks for the positive comments. Although it's light, the welded areas are plenty strong enough for the weight. The vertical section of the angle iron bearers basically fits into the generator frame work base and prevents it from moving around.
Nice job
Thanks!
very nice , thats good thinking
The generator is 240 volt AC output. It also has a 12 volt DC outlet. It's big enough to run my small/medium sized freezer.
I mainly use it to run my electric hedge trimmer. Saves having miles of power cord and I like electric trimmers as they are very light weight to use. Also comes in handy for power outs, and power tools.
can you tell me what is the voltage not the watts please ?
With how much the wheels stick out, does it still fit through a standard doorway?
Hi what size are the angle iron please?
25 x 25 x 5 mm
