Keep in mind, the clips from the video are from the open beta. The game got delayed but multiple new features, QOL, modding support, a super cinematic and flexible camera (testing footage shows angles that literally look like it’s in photo mode with the ability to look up the actual city streets), and a reworked UI. The game is even better now and we only got 9 more days
Love some changes, however I am super anxious... the whole identity of fp1 was around micromanagement, niche survival, messed up moral decisions, etc. This feels a bit more like... tropico on ice? It looks great, and some things sound super interesting. But I hope the implementation is good since I feel it fills a total different type of gameplay. Can't wait to get out, fp1 was a huge blast for me. Was so not expecting to be so good. Lets see about 2.
I like the changes becuse if i wanted something like micromangment and niche survival I would play fp1. The second game being so different is a point its favor Imo. If fp2 is exactly like or very simmiler to fp1 why make the second one and why would anyone want to play it.
@@A.Deer.Stuck.In.Headlights That is like saying "if I want something niche with puzzles I play the original Tomb Rider from '90s". Some changes are nice. However, is not the same type of game. But there are more options of other games with that macro approach and general decision makings (not saying better, not saying enough, but there are options), but except fp1 I literally don't know any with that micro approach (if you don't pls. tell me). So loosing that feels super bad. Is what probably brought it success in the first place. Would've loved to see something like micro to macro (where you start small in a single district that is similar to fp1 and evolve to something like what fp2 feels from this video). But... it is what it is. Maybe that "identity" is not fully lost. Will see in 3 days.
@@Rutherford_Inchworm_III Isn't "less immediate" sort of the point of the sequel? This is the next part of the story of New London and the town didn't just stay as a small village for 30 years. Is it bad that I actually preferred the first game? I feel like this one is significantly less detrimental in both choices and loss. You're instead stuck with managing factions and entire self sustainable sections of a city, with the only major choice being ; Do I screw over this radical group or that one? and "you can have the next vote if you vote for/ against x law." Versus having to put sawdust in soup and burying bodies in the snow, and I lost 30 homed people during last nights white out, and now I have to tell a kid to go inside the generator to fix something. The kid never returned. Also The UI was incredibly confusing for certain things, Towards the end of the campaign and I had the 30 cores and needed to upgrade the generator. I genuinely scoured the internet to be led to believe it was a game breaking bug. It wasn't I just had to hit 'N' and select the generator to upgrade it. Or during the civil war, instead of clicking the red icons and sending the guards in, I thought it would automatically resolve itself leading to half my city being burned down. I'm not trying to complain, but after I beat the game. I didn't want to play it again in sandbox. It was a decent trip with a good soundtrack but I just found it almost too forgiving of an experience with a convoluted UI. Also half of the tech tree seemed to be locked out depending on which route (faction) you go with. It adds the idea of replayability, it might be worth checking out but I just didn't have that many ass clenching moments as I did in the first game.
