Hi! Question - does it matter what way you cut the bullet fabric since it is stretchy one way and not the other?

yes it does, you want the stretch to go sideways (horizontally on the strip) and not up and down. for headbands - because it needs to stretch around the head. and for bows, it will be easier to tie them when the stretch goes horizontally.
there's few bullet fabrics that stretch 4ways, those are the best to work with

no. it has to be soft kind of bullet fabric. the higher the quality, the softer it is. and I recommend 4 way stretch (its harder to find, the 2 way stretch is more popular kind, but its stiffer, harder to tie and leaves indents on babies head. I'm not a fan of those) I dont tie it so tight for newborn babies (I dint for mine when she was little) and it was fine. but in order to have perfect measurements, you can measure the babies head that way your not guessing
