New Titanic Expedition Will Make 3D Model of Wreckage

- Just a year after the ill-fated Titan expedition to the Titanic killed five people, another journey down to arguably the most famous shipwreck in the world is underway. Using remotely operated vehicles, the team plans to get updated images of the Titanic that will be used to make a 3D model of the ship. RMS Titanic Inc says their crew will hold a memorial service for the five people who died in the Titan submersible, as well as the 1,500 who perished when the Titanic sank.
theres a lot of young people in the comment section that thinks Oceangate was the first dive into the Titanic. people have diving with manned and unmanned submarines for decades into the Titanic
I mean we only found it in the 80's
Proof? The Titanic is like 10 miles sunk. We have the tech to sink like a mile or two.
@@swallowedinthesea11Where did you pull that info from? It's about 2 miles deep 😂
@@swallowedinthesea11💀Titanic is not in the marina trench bro
For all of the kids watching this who think this is a bad idea. We have been sending subs down there since 1986. The Titian has been the only fatal accident because they had no idea what they were doing. This expedition will be using a drone. So don’t complain about something y’all got know knowledge of.
The number of people in these comments that seem to have absolutely no idea that the situation with the Titan submersible was unique and completely avoidable, is shocking. Comparing the actual expeditions done by professionals, to that pathetic and irresponsible mess is WILD. It’s like comparing trying to send a $50 drone from Walmart to the moon, versus an actual rocket manned by a NASA crew. 😂
Drone moon landing ?

We can’t just leave the Titanic alone can we
Due to these dives we have learnt far more than we ever could about the Titanic
There have been countless of dives in the titanic that went successfully, there's only one fluke which was ocean gate.
Heck the creator of the movie titanic has dived in several times all with the best gear and professionals, to the point where he's also an expert in that field as well.
Nope
Didn’t they already scan the wreck and make a 3D model out of it?
Yeah.
I think its a highly more detailed 3D model + a update version of how the wrecksite has changed since the last 3D model
Mainly due to its decay
There was apparently an update to the titanic, included in the oceangate patch

ikr like we have this. Maybe it's a better 3D model and they don't know what they're reporting on
This one will be in better detail
I'm still waiting for Titanic 2 to come out.
Oh my God would you guys please leave that ship alone leave it where it is let it sleep
Diving down to the wreck allows us to learn far more about it than we ever could, and besides, the wreck will be completely gone in a couple decades, so time is precious
Ships don’t sleep.

No, not see the Titanic, to study it

Wait NAHH I was js watching abt the titanic an hr ago now this pop up? What a coincidence
This money should be used to fund something more....resourceful.
I have always thought that since it is a place where many people died, it is considered a graveyard and, as such, is ‘hands(human or mechanical) off’!
Lol.
The only ship that keeps claiming lives over 100yrs after it sank.
Make sure to use real controls rather than just a controller 😶

It’s not milking for anything.it’s fame has died out but it’s for scientific research
Wishing the Best for James on this expedition! Had the fortune of him joining us in my Beatles tribute band Britain’s Finest as a John Lennon impersonator.
Y’all never learn huh🤦🏾♂️
Its robot controlled, There have been so mamy successful expeditions to the wreck the Titan had already mamy problems with it which could've been avoided
Clearly you have that in common, a simple search will tell you that there have been hundreds of dives to learn far more about the wreck that would never be possible otherwise. This isn't a recreational dive, even Oceangate only had recreational tours to raise enough money to fund actual research. So whilst yes, Stockton Rush was an idiot and a moron who thought he knew better, his goal was still the same as everyone else's.

I agree
The submersible will be unmanned.
This has been done regularly over the years, don't let Stockton Rush make you think the industry as a whole isn't safe
First round? You're a casual.
First round? People have been visiting and studying the Titanic since it was first found in the 80s. James Cameron himself has made over 30 dives to the wreck.

Why do we need to keep going back to the Titanic, like what else is there to know at this point. Its already been scanned and visited hundreds of times.
They want even more detail and more debris
Really about to go for round 2?

@@aidaaan_5083innit the bacteria is eating away the titanic as we speak and it is nearly impossible to raise it up without damaging it so much and + the weight of it and that it's to far below you would literally need the strongest material to lift that giant beast that would probably crumble in to bits if it is lifted up unless you could somehow get something like an inflatable or something under neith it and then get like I dunno a giant strong crab cage to rap around it and secure it tightly and then get like a lot of big submarines to lift it up and then it would be possible to raise it and the back of it aswell or people could just like get all the water out of the sea 🌊 and then they could easily find the titanic and use the example I said to lift if up but with giant cranes and then it can be lifted onto a giant flat bed or something to move it and then get the back of the titanic which I think is the stern and then move that aswell and then fill the ocean back with water and then they could restore the titanic with its parts as an example to help build it the same way it was and then once that's all done it can be restored and can sail the sea once and for all it would take about I dunno maybe 2 or 3 years depending on where to get the parts for it and then after all of that the remains of the titanic can go in a giant display in like a giant museum the size of a titanic and then it can be remembered the night when it sunked.
