- Hello hello hello! If you were at this past Sunday evening's performance of Les Miserables at the Imperial Theater, you actually heard a Puerto Rican kid's dream come true in real time. For reasons surpassing understanding, the good folks at Les Miserables Broadway allowed me to cameo as the offstage voice of the "Loud Hailer" for the Sunday night performance. THE SCARIEST THING I HAVE EVER DONE. Forever grateful to our revolutionary neighbors next door, cast and crew alike. Good luck with the lotto!

Fun fact: there's actually a really cool connection to Hamilton and Les Mis. The real-life Lafayette was actually at the funeral of General Lamarque in Les Mis, so it's like 100% percent possible that he would have bumped into the barricade boys.

This man defines humility. He has written a musical that will no doubt become the 'Les Mis' of the 21st century, and received countless awards and salutations for his genius.
Yet here his obvious and almost child-like delight at having the opportunity to be part of a Les Mis production, perhaps something he, like millions of others aspire to, is a joy to witness.
'For reasons surpassing understanding...' A simply wonderful turn of phrase.
I say this will all admiration and respect--the greatest success story of Broadway is a truly terrible singer--his rise is all the more remarkable for it.
Though I don't think this was too bad, he usually sings better-I think he was too excited! Lol!

Worse scene for me is towards the end of the musical around the wedding when all the dead are behind the screen and they are ghosts. Terrible scene for me.

Amazing to be a part of one of the best climaxes in musical theatre. And awesome that Miranda is ENJOYING IT SO VERY MUCH.
Just imagine being at that performance, crying over Gavroche, then hearing that voice. It's so familiar to you, but you just can't decide where you know it from. Then at the end of the performance as everyone is taking their bows, you see him. That voice was Lin Manual Miranda's.
