Extremely helpful and informative. This video and others you did is the reason I bought several tanacom reels over the past few years. We absolutely love fishing with them outside of 400 ft. Thanks for sharing this information.
Rod/reel combo with fishing kit as an emergency setup th-cam.com/users/postUgkxntWMOZsO1Zfv-pdn_XuffEtNkTYAYu4Z recommend but started to use this every day. The rod is thick and seems durable. I keep it neatly tucked into a regular backpack all the time with my fishing gear, and can grab it anytime, put it on my back and go anywhere. I just read in another review that the rod length below the reel is adjustable as well, so I will try that too for even more portability. Probably the best setup I've ever owned. I lost the cap for the eyelets, but no big deal since I still have the black cloth sheath that came for the pole and I use that. Very portable and high quality.
I bought the tanacom 1000 and this was helpful. However I wish u had shown the actual jigging in action. Do I have to manually drop the line back to the bottom or can the reel be set to do so. Also where should the throttle handle be set during jigging. Also do I change to manual retrieval once I get a hit when jigging.
DaiwaAustralia: man I love your video great lesson on electric reels I'm pretty new to electric reels I'm getting the Shimano Beastmaster 9000 top-of-the-line soon please keep going and keep up the awesome videos on how to use the electric reels just wondering if you had an email I could reach you on for some personal advice and some lessons over the phone if so it would be great kind regards Neo.
if your jigging range is 100 to 50 feet and you are done with the last leg of your jigging (you are at 50 feet depth) will line be released back to 100 feet or deeper?
thanks for your video. I'm facing a little issue with this Tanacom 1000. After setting the Jig I start it but it does the jig only one time...If I want another jig I have to press the pulsant again. It is a bit weird because the first time I tried it worked and now it does not . Maybe I have accidentally done something wrong.
Hey mate, If you could please email service@daiwaaustralia.com.au with the issues that you are having with the TANACOM 1000, a team member will be able to assist you :)
Hello captain! I have a question (and maybe an idea for a video from you) I’m planning on going trolling with my Tanacom 1000. As I’m sure you know, the user manual is a pain in the butt and I need to find out how to se up the alarm for bites so I can know when there’s a fish on. Can you help me (us) with it? Thanks!!!!
great video , just I am facing a problem that my tanacom is showing about 180 meters minus and I couldn't find a way to reset even when I press the reset button or when I go to press mode button 6 times and having the screen showing 180 and down 19 1 I couldn't even reset , anyone can help me with that ? not even the daiwa store they didn't :)
As of this date, September 20, 2024, there have only been 47 comments. You’d think they could answer all the questions. There aren’t that many, but there are some questions here that all of us would appreciate an answer to. Also, it would be nice if they did this video in English next time. (That was a joke, but maybe it will stir some response.)

This video is very helpful! Thank you for posting. These reels are awesome!
It would have been more helpful to actually see the reel screen as you set the functions.

Can you set the jigging function to return to the bottom?
Do you have a video just as good as this one on functions on the Daiwa Seaborg 1200 MJ ?
how did you get the line to lay so flat on the spool like that.

I'm using a tanacom 1000 for the first time, and I can't get it to retrieve continuously. How do I take it off the jigging feature?
Hey mate, you can download the Tanacom 1000 owners manual. Page 19 onwards will help your situation.

How to fix unaccurate depth counter? Water dept 145m, my tanacom meter jus figure it as 69m.
Will the Daiwa electric reel allow you to jig 3 feet up and then back down for halibut
Did you ever find the answer for a halibut jig mode?
