Kabiyesi o, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Babatunde Ogunwusi. May you live long kabiyesi. May Olodumare bless the years of your reign with prosperity, peace, purity and power for you and the entire yoruba people.

I still want to hear Arole O'odua speak more in Yoruba than he does in English when addressing Yorubas and the world. They can always sub-title his speech for him. I was glad to hear the Oba of Benin speak in his local language when holding a world press conference recently.
Custodians of culture and tradition should speak more in their traditional language.

He is NOT Oba of Benin. He is the Ooni of the Source for the entire universe. If he had spoken in Yoruba, which he does extempore, many people would still have wanted him to speak in a universal language for them to understand. As long as the message is well communicated, I think the medium used is of less importance.

He should also have spoken in Yoruba as the custodian of Yoruba tradition while his speech is either translated or subtitled for him.
You will hardly hear the ale Emir of Kano speak in English even though he perfectly understood the language.
Ditto for many world leaders while addressing their citizens or nations.
