Personally i don't particularly care what a soldier's personal grooming technique is as long as he /she can dispose of enemy personnel
No. Initially it was meant to not give the enemy swordsman a chance to grab by the beard, in more modern times it was meant to fight off numerous parasites, anyone with long hair and beard was and is a source of parasites in the trenches. And yes, shaven face allows to put on gas mask easily, even face only mask gets tightly closed on shaven face, with beard you die.
soldiers don't necessarily have an option to shave regardless of the supply situation, there are people for whom shaving causes health complications, especially if you order them to shave with poor equipment and access to hygiene products in a warzone and I think a force that is suffering from skin infection is a less efficient one that a force that has beards. There's also that Canada is running a volunteer force and some people like having a beard. It's not like conscription where you can force servicemen to your whims and they can't choose to not enlist. With haircuts where there are significant health issues and risk to self if they're not kept short but here it also helps people with less common head shapes, so letting people have beards is just a bonus on top

Here’s an idea. Shave.
Problem solved.
100% nonsense beards actually improve the seal on gas masks
Cool now they can get rid of the racist beard policy.
Servicemen (or women poppfffffttttt) should be clean shaven
The whole beard issue is one of scruffy unprofessional behaviour
In your opinion. In any case, it makes zero difference to a person's operational effectiveness nowadays, except in a few limited cases where being clean shaven is still mandated, such as when wearing an aircrew oxygen mask.
As for being unprofessional, nothing about maintaining a neat beard according to regs is unprofessional.
Also not every man can shave without medical issues so neat and short beard and moustache is the better option.
